so I downloaded a new game and saw the old text of coc1 backstory missing. since we the player for this game dont need to know about it, its a fine reduction. but reading that got me thinking about the timelines.

if we say coc1 takes place over the course of an year, the hero of mareth invades lethices castle on the anniversary of his being sacrificed, that puts coc2 prologue on the same day.
this makes sense with what kas tells you when you lay down on her lap. She literally says she used the opportunity to sneak away through the portal when the ingnamite crusader assaulted the castle.

the problem is, when you visit her in the ways between and hear her story etc, she says that a sacrificial pawn has started a crusade against demons. and that one of her experiments, Kiha has also shacked up with said crusader. and they way its said means its only been a couple of months since the start of coc1. she even goes on to say she hopes kiha beheads lethice.

So either
option 1
coc2 started the day coc1 ends
or
option 2
both games are happening simultaneously with just 2 3 months between their starts.

kas knows about coc1 story a bit.
If she has knowledge of this and didnt see the hero of mareth as a threat she couldnt handle, why would she leave? she could have joined him. well, if the player in coc1 chooses to be the redeemer, shes a moron for running away, she could just have stayed and been redeemed. or the players choice is wrecking mareth by being corrupt, again her win. the only ending of coc1 that would make sense is the one where you become a violent demon slayer.

which means she had to have left before the way the story unfolds is set. the happenings in mareth arent too far along. option 2 makes sense.

also kas has like a manor or castle somewhere south of lethices castle. it was her moms playground, and after getting demoned lethice let kas have it. so her leaving before the events of coc1 finale, where it says she was in lethices castle, also makes sense.

the prologue and put your head on momma kas lap matches while the story she tells you in the ways between fort, doesnt match said timelines. and the prologues now been removed, so its even more incongruent with the lap talk and further backstory.

also the whole real non demon version of kas, that she says maybe later, is it gonna get a more slimmer more muscular less booby version or is she just gonna turn into calise

Based on... what, exactly? I don't think there's a timeframe for the duration of the events of CoC aside from the in-game day counter, which is more of a gameplay mechanic (like it is in the other FenGames) and varies too much between playthroughs to be reliable; it could be months, it could be years, it could even be weeks or days.
the problem is, when you visit her in the ways between and hear her story etc, she says that a sacrificial pawn has started a crusade against demons. and that one of her experiments, Kiha has also shacked up with said crusader. and they way its said means its only been a couple of months since the start of coc1. she even goes on to say she hopes kiha beheads lethice.
First off, as my previous point demonstrated, it's entirely possible the the Champion of Ingnam's crusade against the demons only lasted a few months - and even if it didn't, I'd say the proper start of the crusade would be dealing with the Demon Factory dungeon rather than the beginning of the game, which means even more time has passed.
Secondly, Kas left during the attack on Lethice's lair; as such, she doesn't know how that ended because she wasn't there for it. For all she knows, Lethice escaped and tried to wage war against the Champion of Ingnam, so the crusade is still ongoing. (We know that's not the case, but she doesn't.)
coc2 started the day coc1 ends
In case it wasn't obvious from the previous points, I'm pretty sure this is the case.
well, if the player in coc1 chooses to be the redeemer, shes a moron for running away, she could just have stayed and been redeemed.
Thing is, Kas doesn't want to be redeemed.
Also, I'm pretty sure this is the canon end to CoC, or at least the one the devs intended for CoCII. Not that it particularly matters, as what's going down in Mareth has little-to-no impact on what's happening in Savarra.

The Champion of Mareth was invading Lethice's castle the day of the start of CoC II. That is correct. Kas left before it became obvious who would win one way or the other. That was actually irrelevant to Kas. By that day, Kas was already sick of Lethice and her rudderless "leadership", and already had a bug out plan in case things went wrong.

As regards to Kas's motivations, Kas doesn't want to be redeemed, not exactly. While it is never explicitly stated in full, Kas's motivation is to have a trueborn child. She has already tried (very dangerous) experiments to solve it in Mareth and has not even come close to succeeding. The PC's soul in CoC II is literally the only thing that seems to accomplish her goal. How? We don't know yet.

When Kas left Mareth, she was basically not taking her chances with who would win since she didn't like any of them. When she felt the PC's soul, it was like the ultimate bonus.
