I mostly play game blind. After Kino came out, I was curious if my choice of weapon and treating her illness affected her grow up. Only to learn of the mechanic on the wiki. I got the Hime one. I am pretty sure I only got like 2 of the mechanic events despite always having amulet on. What triggers the mechanic events?
I am pretty sure I only got Sweet potato a(I remember a potato coming up and letting her eat it) and math(helped her myself because had back round) I feel pretty sure if I got any other 2 or more would have resulted in Inari.


PS: Why no way to both be moms lol really weird being called Papa when can set pronoun preference. Specially as a woman lol

The events have a chance to proc whenever you enter Kinu's tile. Weapon choice and treating her illness don't affect her personality, though the former will determine what weapon, weapon-based power and some stat bonuses she'll have as an adult.

As for being Papa regardless of pronoun preference, it could be to guarantee unambiguity between the Champion and Kiyoko (especially during events from Kinu's perspective), because the Champion fulfils the father role in the family, because the Observer couldn't think of a good way to refer to a feminine sire in casual speech, something else I can't think of, or some combination of the above.

I've been thoroughly enjoying Kinu perspective situations. So I just had bad luck of the chance not happening despite how often went there

The best way to guarantee you get all 16 events is a) make sure you have at least 32 kids to experience the sibling gated events (very important if you want them all) and b) just pace around over Kinu’s square until an event procs every time you visit (you can do it after you’ve interacted with Kinu).

Also, Tobs had confirmed to me once that “Papa” is legit intended as your title for being the sire. Actual lesbian couples currently don’t have that benefit unless one of them is a trans woman, though even then it varies by preference. Personally, I don’t care because why do we need to gender a parental title?

I mean, to be fair, it's hard not to approach the game without real world understanding and experiences. As much as CoC2 happens in a different universe with different norms, it's not created in a vacuum, and we, both the players and the contributors/writers, bring our baggage into the game and interpretation into the event.

That, and, like, it's probably distressing for a lot of trans people given the reality a lot of us live with. An unintended side effect, to be sure, but still something to consider. (Necessary disclaimer here to make it clear I do not speak for all trans people and I'm mostly speculating, please don't take me as an authority on the subject.)

Which makes sense under the current coding insofar as biology goes; the Champion has to provide the sperm regardless of whether they're male or not and right now there's no way to progress Kiyoko's plot past the preliminaries with an all-female Champion. Though I imagine once magicocks become available that'll go away... and possibly lead to some awkward explanations for Kinu about how she has two mommies. 'Well, when two women love each other very much, one of them puts on this magical belt...'.

A fact that I am grateful for every time I run into a scene with my otherwise all-female Champion that I want to see (have I mentioned how much I love the alchemical reagent system yet?) so one omelette later I can see the fun and one omelette after that, she's back to where she was before. But girl-dick combinations just require explaining the idea that a woman can have a penis, a magicock pregnancy would also require teaching Kinu about sex toys.
