How much liberty are writers allowed in the darkness of the content of their works for TiTS?

I'm not talking about any of the blacklisted content, those are obviously not allowed. I was just wondering just what sort of moral depths are they allowed for characters and the player's character to sink to.

Above the line of Warhammer 40k, which IMO struggles with not making grim-dark into grim-derp.

So, probably nothing like The Boys or Crossed. Thank the One.

If your writing a bad end, you can get pretty dark. From the cold blooded emotionless death by Dr Lash to the equally cold blooded and emotionless life by ClearYu, bad ends can really push it.

Outside of bad ends however the game tends to have stricter regulations on the darkness of content. Although there is always the slave trade (both illegal and 'technicaly' legal) as well as forced bimbo facation to think about.

I think it may be chancy to write about certain subjects in a much darker tone than what's in the game already. For example, losing in combat usually ends in rape, but it's meant to be sexy, unrealistic rape, so don't go writing about how Steele cries and screams and gets brutalized until they can't fight back anymore. Even if the violence is there in combat already, and the rape is there in a billion scenes already, it has a certain established tone that you ought to stick with. For extreme content, always make sure you give the player the opportunity to make an informed choice about whether they want to experience it or not.
