When is the 12.5% chance proc initiated? Does giving her Metal reset the % proc?

The check procs the first time you visit her every day and I am 99% sure giving her metal does not reset it.

See, that's part of my question. After save-scumming, I'm pretty sure the initial check is procced upon entry to the Kitsune Den and not upon clicking "Kohaku" or even "Shop".

I save-scummed to make sure. Made a save just before talking to her and eventually it procced. The rng in this game can sometimes really hate you. Once I was trying to get the imp dream and didn't get it for some 50 game days then i reloaded the same save and I got it 3 nights in a row.

If that's the case, I have to assume she has a default set of items and the 12.5% is to just add the Grenade to that list, because every time I've entered the Den or slept upstairs, she's always had the same starting set of crap.

EDIT: I don't mean actual crap, just speaking out of frustration here.

Yeah if I get it right she has a chance to have a special item and there is a chance that item is the grenade. So there are two checks if you are looking for a specific item.

I just fucking got it. It's not available in her store of selectable items. When you first approach her and click "Shop", a text dialogue procs where she offers to sell you something special. Buy it. Exit out, look at your inventory and - in this case - it's a fucking Ley-Crystal Grenade.

Yeah she gets a chance for an event where she sells you a special item the grenade is just one of them. That is what I meant by the event having a chance to proc the first time you talk to her on a given day.
Edit: To make things clear. She has a stock of items that changes every day and you can reset it by giving her metal. Then every day the first time you talk to her she can have a special item which is an event that pops up. That item can be anything from the grenade to a fox-fur scarf and a lot of other sometimes really useful/powerful stuff.
Also fun fact if I remember it right that event was bugged for a time and she was handing out items for free or even paying you for them.

Yeah when I saw that it was "once per day through a special offer" that was when I knew it was through the special offer scene when you initially talk to her and not in the shop itself. xP
