Not entirely sure but I think this is a bug. Its impossible to gain health during the Raphael fight. Whenever I use LEECH or MASS DRAIN it says it hits, even crits but he takes no damage and thus I heal no health. Considering this is a battle of attrition not being able to heal is kind of a big deal breaker.
