Ok, I thinbk there may be something wrong with the Kane brawl, namely the tells for the attacks.

take this, for instance...

It would seem, by the text, that an arm heave would be the right answer, correct? Nope. Its a trip

And even when i try, sometimes, he just decks me anyway!

Im thoroughly convinced that the fight needs to get a serious once over.

Its also really inconsistent with how much I need to hurt him to win. one time I got him in like 3 turns, and then next it took like six, and only ended when my lust maxed out and i lost!

i dunno man, i've won most of the bouts with him in ~5 turns, it seems to be based a bit on RNG and which move you need to deliver. usually i get it in 3 turns depending on how obvious the choice is

kane fight makes me wish we had a thunderdome to compete in for fame and glory that'd be amazing

Yoah, well, i think they need to rework the tells, cause I had to trial and error 90% of them

Ok, why? Why would they make Int have pull in a brawl? Nobody would expect that! I sure didnt!

I though I could cheese the fight by maxing physique and reflex, but nope! gotta train my brain to win a wrestsling match!

it actually makes perfect sense, all things considered. while being able to deliver a hard hit or grapple is all fine and dandy, it's also useful to be able to read your opponent and understand their next move, this is where int comes in. you have to consider that intelligence basically also acts as a wisdom stat in this game. another problem may be your very high libido, i can pull this fight consistently at maxed stats and 35 libido

No, libido only has influence on lust gain over time, i think.

maybe, however i just read that you need a high willpower and physique, from the actual nonesuch blog. but int is still useful as it reveals what you need to do in the middle of the fight

god i just wish i could mark Kane and turn him into my eternal slutboi

but my point is, unless you put a decent bit of though into it, you wont figure out that you need int to win the fight. I sure didnt! which basically means anyone with short sightedness (much like myself) is pretty much screwed.

eh, grinding stats is pretty easy. and if you don't feel like grinding, just use the save editor. it's a bit of a bore to grind, but it only takes about 5 minutes to max every stat to 50, honestly. except for willpower, which i think is the only stat can be solely leveled and not grinded, unless something has been added for that too

I haven't had any trouble with the fight at all, except once when I had high Lust going in. Even when the game lies to you it's pretty easy to read. Or you can just have max Intelligence.

You guys are missing the point! I grantee there are some other idiots out there who have also gotten deadlocked into this because they assume physique, reflexes, and willpower are all they need.

Grappling isn't instinct. A stand up match between strikers can be resolved via muscle memory: "Don't think, feel."

Grappling is the exact opposite. "Don't feel, THINK!"

It's not bullshit. As I said, even when the game lies to you because your Steele is an idiot, it's easy to read your opponent and make judgment calls. Physique isn't that important in grappling; I'm 5'6" ad 125lbs and I am way better at grappling than my 6'0" 180lbs Marine brother.

Still, a little prompt or direction would be nice. Like, after you get whooped, theres a message saying "Maybe strength isnt enough..." or something like that.

Hey, Im fully aware of my own incompetence, thank you very much! Plus, at no point did I imply that i had any "superiority", or whatever!

Honestly, that was pretty mean. you basically just called me an asshole and an idiot in one fell swoop.
That was intended for your Steele but okay.

I just realized something... My int back when i was getting but but whooped was 43. How much int do you need for this?!? Ok, so i admit, having int be a factor in the fight is kinda intuitive, ill concede on that. But needing it to be maxed out!?!? For a thing thats on the FIRST FUCKING PLANET!?!? Thats kinda bullshit

Your stats are percentage based. If you have 5 Int at level 1 you get the same effect as 50 Int at level 10, I believe.

Ok, thats good for low-level peeps, but if youre high level and neglected int, then youre completely fucked! Bit of an oversight, if you ask me.

Like I said though, even if your Intelligence is low, like on my test Merc Steele, you can win by reading your opponent instead of your Steele's thoughts.

yeah. Ive sorta managed to figure it out, but im still a bit peeved. mostly cause theres a possibility of somebody bad ending themselves if they loose too many times, and have no clue how it happened. Whatever. Im sure Ill be over it by tomorrow, though.

But I know for a fact its only a matter of time till someone else makes a similar thread.

Yes, yes it's par for course here that eventually someone gets mad over a combat encounter.
