Howdy! I'm interested in writing some dream-sequences or emails exploring the PC's past relationship/rivalry with their less-than-friendly cousin. I know that a good deal of the game's canon is written as people go, but I don't want to write in contradiction to any as-yet-unestablished content that Fen & Co. were planning on producing. Honestly, I just feel like our primary antagonist could stand to be a lil' more three-dimensional. Behind every douchebag is, uh, a smaller douchebag, I guess.

>Did the PC and Jack/Jill interact on any meaningful level prior to the probe quest? Did they meet occasionally, or did they meet more often? We know that Victor and his brother were not on the best of terms, but I don't think that tricky Vic would be the super-vindictive type. I doubt he'd bar the PC and Jack/Jill from interacting, and I could see the two being left to hang out while the adults discussed business.

>What is their age in relation to the PC? Older? Younger? About the same? For that matter, have they had any significant gene modding done? We can infer that they come from a privileged household, but apart from that we know very little about their upbringing. For the PC, of course, this is deliberate, but Jack/Jill is a relatively-predefined character.

And, ah, a more mechanical question: I know that the game keeps track of the PC's upbringing, starting perk, starting race, hair-color, and eye-color... Does it keep track of starting gender as well? How about height/build? Knowing whether or not these parameters exist would help me figure out how much- or little- detail I would be able to go into.

I don't expect answers to all of my story-related questions- just a confirmation as to whether or not it'd be alright to fill in some of the lines would be a huge help. Thanks in advance to anyone who responds.

EDIT: Welp. Dream is still possible. Maybe. Backwoods does not surrender so easily, ah-ha!
Ha.

EDIT: Fen OK'd work on a dream sequence. Memories are a no-go.

Fen said we're not allowed to write for Jack/Jill and that none of what you asked has been written or even considered yet. Don't get me wrong, a lot of us really want to, but it is forbidden. Oooh, spooky. :ghost:

A dream or very specific scene might be allowed, though. I mean, me and Hugs got permission for an oral sex scene with Jill after agreeing to some guidelines first. So you'd have to ask Fen about if you're serious about writing something.

With that said, it should be easy to keep track of your starting gender and really, your starting anything, if the game doesn't already.

Welp. Fuck. Remembered seeing an old thread about people asking for Jack/Jill characterization, too.

Oh well. C'est la vie.

Now here is my headcanon.

Jill is younger than the PC, and they met often at important events, but only talked the bare minimum. Jill is also a pure virgin waifu and keeps a picture of the PC on the nightstand. Her quest isn't to beat the PC, it's to get her senpai to notice her. She's also jealous of how sexually liberated the PC is and is upset that she's not involved.

TiTS will end with Jill failing her quest and her father forcing her into an arranged marriage which the PC will then liberate her from.

Ask this nerd for more headcanons.

I can't tell if you're joking or being completely deadpan-serious, and that makes all of this so much funnier. I, ah, can't exactly access 'this nerd's' profile. It's restricted access, which is kinda spooky, dude.

Know what else has restricted access? Area 51. Aliens, my man. They are among us.

Headcanon means it's something you'd like to see, but whether it'll ever happen or not is up in the air. In this headcanon's case, it's so far up in the air it's left orbit.

Just like the aliens.

She emails you a video of a haerm of Zil pleasuring her. Sorry, headcannon disproved.

Right, right. I always thought that headcanon meant something that someone thought was true. Which made the cousin-waifu-pining-for-space-adventurer all the funnier.

Regardless, I'll try an' contact Fen to see if anything can come of this. Nothing makes me happier than writing about horrible, egotistical people.

@Zevos: Please, she just sent that to look cool. Probably hired a bunch of Zil callgirls. And even if she didn't lesbian sex is a-okay. Besides, headcanon Steele would have replied with a picture of them sleeping with the Dorna twins.

Also that email was written in like the first year of TiTS' development and it's not like anything ever gets retconned in this game. :smuggo:

My headcannon is that Jill Steele keeps a haerm of sugar babes from would-be wealthy families that her father drove into soulcrushing debt and poverty. And they all not-so-secretly resent her.

If her interactions with Dane are anything to go by, at least one thing in my headcanon is true: she is very much an arrogant, spoiled princess.

Tsundehime Jill Go!

Clearly, Jack Steele is playing through the rush as if it were an IRL harem-manga, collecting an ever-growing menagerie of waifus in his cargo hold...

Wait, that sounds like someone else...

In the original code, both Jack and Jill had their virgin flags.

I mean, I feel the same way. But I don't believe that current one-dimensionality is an argument against further character development. I'm not saying that there's any true justification for their douchiness and incompetency, but seeing a bit of their history might make things feel a bit more... Personal, I guess? I dunno. I feel like I see little enough of them that I can't truly bring myself to hate them like a lot of folks do.

Yeah the Rival really feels like a completely wasted character right now. No options to be anything but a dick to them even if you're a kind Steele and they barely interact with you at all even when you're at the probes.

Tsun-rival would be fun, but I recall hearing that it wasn't going to happen.

The game does not keep track of starting gender or height/build, but as noob said, it really wouldn't be that hard to make it start keeping track. The hardest part would be just getting someone to do it.

The Rival is a paradox: The character has a defined (also, undefined) past with Jack/Jill, yet she is for all intents and purposes a blank with a pretty face beyond a handful of lines.

I'm like 90% certain that's all there ever will be to them.
Based on my talks with Fen, and how defensive he was over my idea pitches, I'm pretty he does have "something" substantial planned. It's just not a huge priority. Why "the Rival" isn't a priority is another issue, though. :(

Your cousin is essentially Blue/Gary from Pokemon gen 1, practically all the way down to the mannerisms. "Jill was here, [pc.name] is a loser"

In a game where you can have sex with just about anything with a face, this is about all you really need to know about your cousin.

Still dosnt change the fact that the villain of our epic story has all the character of a stale potato.

If they're anything more than the starter villain who becomes a crew member after they get upstaged by someone more competent and genuinely antagonistic from our family tree, I'll be very surprised.

I mean, I think we all made it pretty clear that we all have ideas for Jill, but they're just that, ideas.

And we've come full circle. Lots of people are willing and able to write some content that fleshes out Jack/Jill, but ya hafta wait on Fen's approval for anything of the sort- this character is ultimately in FenCo's hands, since they're central to the main plot and all.

I mean, man, I don't even wanna write revenge porn or anything. A few memories-in-the-form-of-dreams, maybe some more smug emails or even a veiled threat from Uncle Max... Somethin' to flesh out the less-than-savory side of the Steele line.

My headcanon is that Jack/Jill and the PC got along fine when they were younger but eventually grew into bitter enemies because of parenting. Nature-vs.-nurture type situation, I dunno. Maybe something dictated by personality, even- a nice PC probably would've been bullied and pushed around, while a hard one probably woulda been just as much of a prick. Again, I dunno, just throwing shit at the wall and seeing what sticks. I don't expect Fen to actually approve anything so specific.

Regardless.

<rant>

I'm putting way too much thought into the past and motivations of a cartoonish villain in a porn game, but by god, past conflict makes victory/defeat all the more meaningful. I'm fine with the rival being a villain, as long as they're the kind of villain who people love to hate. When folks mention NPCs who they hate, they mention Riya (who TBH caters to a lot of my fetishes and is super well-written, but whatever), they mention Carver, they mention Lane. When side-characters feel more villainous than the main antagonist, I see that as a problem. I know that the good folks working on this game have plans, but that's just how I see things right now.

It would probably help if we got to run into our cousin more often, like on non-probe planets. I mean I doubt they spend 24/7 of their time on the probes, especially when we beat them to the punch in the later probes since they've have to wait for us to make the first move since they wont know where to go.

As it is we meet our cousin 4 times or so, and in any of those 4 times we get more commentary from other characters like Dane or Sheka than our dearest cousin.

Would be nice if we could run into Jack/Jill more.

As it is right now we only run on them during the probes and in that email they send us.

You'll be able to meet them soon on Uveto through Belle, during an exhibition scene.
