Does Ingnam just leaves the Champions for dead? I mean, it does say that the champion would never see their friends or family again, but is that just because they assume they are going to die or because they are never allowed to come back again, even if they beat the demons?

As I understood it, she's the leader of the group responsible for corruption in general, making her by far the the biggest reason it's an apocalyptic shithole, and directly or indirectly responsible for most of the trials a Champion experiences.
