"In Combat" if skipping tutorial

I created a new character, and decided to skip the Celise tutorial. I chose to take her along. Until I got into a combat and ended it, every screen ended in bold text stating "You're still in combat, you ninny!"

(The first time, I also somehow started on the station in the hangar rather than on First-14, but I'm not sure how that happened, and I couldn't repeat that when creating a new character again, mostly the same way.)

I’m having the same thing happen after I reloaded my save from a n insta-loss mishap. That is so weird.
