How to defeat Varmints?

Hi everyone,

I just started playing TiTS and I'm having trouble even defeating/capturing the varmints? The only attack that seems to do any damage is with the lasso, and that only deals damage in the teens, so my HP drops to 0 before I can deal any significant damage. Poking around the internet it doesn't seem like a common problem - am I missing something completely obvious?? If someone could help me out, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks!

Go level up on mobs on Mhen'ga. You are obviously underleveled for the vermints.

Your also able to get an attack dog later on in the main quest, with it still being usable on new texas. If you are a tech specialist with the attack drone perk you can repair and use it immediately, and if you dont it can be fixed in a later quest.

They are too early in the game for that. Also the attack dog is barely better than the default attack drone.

My My you all forgot tell OP one thing...the higher PC physique the better dmg it will deal to them so what most ironic for Techs their need to actualy got to NT gym or Tarkus pool or spend lvl-up points to rise physique to not be dealing pitful amount of dmg to Varmits with Lasso. Ofc been to low lvl is bad too due to not been able rise Physique high enough. On my Techs when I hit around 15-20 phys it's enough to easy beat them (so that also mean somewhere around 3-4 lvl).
