How do you unlock the Gym field?

Cannot find any answers on the wiki nor anywhere else. It says to wait a few days for Brint or Brienne to clear it out. However, you can't talk to Brint/Brienne about it and nothing happens if i wait days, even weeks.

Am i missing something? I can't access June's content if i can't clear the field.

It shouldn't take weeks, as I recall. I believe Brint will approach you after you wake up and say something to you. If not that, revisiting the gym should lead to the dialogue.

I believe it is partially linked to progress in the story, did you do the 'dog days' quest?
