I did do that entire sequence with the camera and she's been fully cumslutted but theres still no trigger. Is it just a random event and i keep needing to proc her and leave until something happens?

I think the only way to get them without save editing is to make her a cumslut before you get her as a crew member.

^ Can confirm. The event triggered for me right after finishing her quest, saving in front of her place and starting the cumsluttery path (I wanted to read the scenes before asking her to join Steele's crew).
