Help with my warrior build

Trying to make a warrior focused on BIG DAMAGE. So any recommendations on Powers and equipment differing from what I am currently using would be appreciated.

Also would a thief do more damage? They get twist the knife and sharpen blades (crit and bonus damage to debuffed targets). Or maybe another class would be even better as a two hander? Idk, I don't want to use spells though so telling me to switch to a black mage or spell blade wouldn't be helpful. But if you want to share any other strong builds feel free to do so, when I make another character I will likely ask this question again for that class anyway.

I'm not loving galons griefmaker and am looking for a replacement. Swift sword seems really good but it has less base damage and very little pen so I'm not sure( still haven't gotten one)

As a side not how does scaling work in this game for mixed weapons? Is total damage affected by Attack power or is the physical scaled with attack power and the elemental with spellpower?

Also looking for some better gloves if any one has recommendations.

Also would it be better to dump toughness and max cunning? I get that cunning increases crit chance/damage but I'm worried I'll get blasted. Even with 335 hp earth elementals can still kill me if i miss the first couple of hits or they crit cleave me

Finally I'm not sure what powers to pick.
Current
Mirror stance/Steady strike/Cleave/Bull rush/Inspiration

I have no earthly idea what at will power to use, for most of the game I just used heal since its such a strong spell but since getting mirror stance I've been using that to unlock powers.

Steady strike just hits so freaking hard, even though lightning fist might stun its hard to say no to +200 attack power, especially since so many fights are group fights, stunning a single enemy for low damage doesn't seem very good.

Cleave just because at least half the fights in the game are 3 vs Sideways 8. I really want the at will power Wide sweep that supposedly you can steal from Arona(cheiftain's bronze" But I have no idea how to fight her again.

Bull rush hits pretty hard and stuns so its nice for solo enemies.

Inspiration isn't great but a lot of the time I forget to run a healer since I'm still grinding people to 6 so it's more a just in case button. Unbreakable seems significantly worse since if you are using unbreakable your team is probably dead. And if your team is dead is very likely you are going to be murdered on action economy since you are either fighting a solo enemy with 2-3 actions per round or a group fight where it will be you be outnumbered. But most of my losses are due to strings of misses or enemy crits one shotting some one so it can still be a miss. I would probably use assassinate if I had a healer atm.

Alright, so yes, you would do more damage as a Thief. With Twist the Knife passive and obscurement/sneak attack interaction, the thief class is optimised for rapid burst damage.

I run a 2H tanky damage dealing warrior that's pretty similar to yours, my weapon of choice is the Mastbreaker. If that's not available to you (it's only sold by Pavo during Right of Conquest), then Galon's Griefmaker is good for anyone who's not resistant to frost damage (ie: enemies in the Glacial Rift), with something like the War Pick or Captain's Greatsword as a fallback for the Rift.

All weapon damage scales off Attack Power, so you don't need to worry about spellpower or anything.

There are Giant Gloves in the final Winter Wolf dungeon that give you +15 to armour penetration, or you can use the Royal Gloves from defeating Queen Alissa for +10 armour penetration and +5 ward.

Most max damage builds will take cunning instead of toughness, yeah. Remember that Garth sells drinks that allow you to max one stat with a boon for 24 hours, so rather than re-rolling your stats you can just drink a Honey Mead instead to max cunning.

My 2H tanky damage dealing warrior runs Equilibrium/Steady Strike/Cleave/Bull Rush/Unbreakable, so most of our sets are pretty similar. Equilibrium helps in the Undermountain and generally against enemies who can knock you prone or disarm you, and Unbreakable usually isn't helpful but when it is it wins battles for you.

If you use Trail Rations to give yourself the Well Fed status to heal between battles, you generally don't need healing (though it's obviously still helpful sometimes). You just need to do enough damage fast enough to win the battle, and then you'll be back up to full. Although if you want healing it's readily available - Passion Priestess Cait, Witch Cait, Queenly Raiment Etheryn being the main ones.

Thanks for the info I just got the royal gloves. Equilibrium is a really good idea, getting cc'ed can really swing fights againts you.

Isn’t that gs you get from the winter palace has more damage?

I meant the greatsword
Not really, the Captain's Greatsword has 50 Penetrating Damage, while the Griefmaker has 30 Penetrating Damage and 20 Frost Damage, so both in the end have 50 Damage.

A trend that I've found most weapons share is that they're side-grades to weapons in their same weight class. It typically isn't the Damage stats you should look at when choosing a weapon but the secondary stats above that.

And, well... location. The Griefmaker's A-Pen is great but that 20 Frost Damage obviously is gonna hold it back a lot in the Glacial Rift vs Captain's Greatsword's 50 Pen and 20 Crit.

With that said...

This loadout of powers right here is mostly about Threat Management, if that is your intent then I'd reccommend shelving the greatswords now and taking up a Tower Shield instead... do you have the Sanctified Gladius still? Control Rod maybe? Or just a Curved Sword since you're not mixing any spells in.

Max toughness, strength and agility probabably, start your day with Monastery Ale if you use spells a lot Honeyed Mead if you don't and wanna crit I guess.

Most Importantly though, unless you're actually trying to learn powers. Use Shielded Stance instead of Mirror Stance. +15 Evasion and +50% Armor and Ward is ridicilously meaty.

To me, the 20 frost damage never did anything, so the captains gs is better for the 20 crit
