At this point I'm kinda at my wits end with the matter stated above. I have tried setting the local language setting to Japanese and using wine but no matter how much I fiddle the damn thing it refuses to work. I appreciate the help and I do understand that this is might not honestly be the best place to ask this question.

Could you at least say what you're asking about specifically?  Is it translation, are the games not running, are you getting errors or gibberish?

Most VNs need to have the disk mounted using something like Daemon Lite, so it usually requires a PC to run. Haven't even tried to get these to work on a Mac - do not want to do a virtual windows environment and/or run Wine...too much bother for me...

I've tried to run games on OSX using wine for quite a while, and unless they run on Unity, I had no luck making it work…

In your case, I do recommend that you run windows inside a VM. Install Virtual Box (https://www.virtualbox.org/) and use it to install windows. If you don't have a valid windows key, don't bother looking for torrents, you can use a developer VM from Microsoft itself, that let you run windows for about 90 days: https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-edge/tools/vms/

If you have 4gb ram, set the VM to use 2gb and close all other applications before starting the VM. If you have 8 or more, you can assign 3gb to VM and use the mac normally (unless you have chrome opened with lots of tabs, if so I recommend closing it before starting the VM)

You can't run a Triple-A game with this setup, but I use it quite a while and had no problem running visual novels or other games found in this forum, like rpg maker, java games and such :)

I hope it helps! o/
