Has the difficulty been increase with the new fight ui

My level 6 tech specialist now fails spectacularly on the first part of Anno's mission where I once was able to breeze through it. Has the diffciulty increased or am I just out of luck against 3 seperate enemies instead of 1 combined?

Not intentionally but yeah, the multi-enemy fights are super unbalanced right now. Give it a couple patches and it should get sorted out.

Tried running it as a tech too and was nastily surprised.  The disruptors being made AoE attacks would help enormously, and give a reason to actually use them ever.  Much like they're screwed out of having the ability to replenish Energy, techs are currently screwed out of having any form of AoE, where smugglers are guaranteed to have one and mercs can have as many as two.

I ran it as a Smuggler and a Tech at the balance-level and got demolished in 2-3 turns, depending on if they murderated Anno first or not.


I should probably make a new Balance Report thread for Combat 2.0, actually. Start compiling these so Geddy/Fen/(maybe me) can address them easier. Hop on that first thing tomorrow.

Yeah, they also seem slightly underpowered.

Oh, and melee, don't forget techs cannot into melee.


Going to run a merc through tonight, we'll see how it handles the fights.

Already done. As I always say when I go into a multimob battle as a merc: CARPET GRENADES MOTHERFUCKER!

What I mean by that is that techs require an energy gun for both of their special attacks.  They have no melee special attacks and only one feature, Melee Tweaks, that improves the performance of energy melee weapons.  Basically they have no options suited for melee.

Ran through with a merc just now and yeah, they handle the group fights way better than a tech does.  Breezed through Fall of the Phoenix at level 4 while going in at half max Energy, and only needed one use of Power Strike for Deck 13.  That's while forgetting to grab the shield belt from the Phoenix and only having the Atma Armor.  Level up to 5 for Carpet Grenades and Second Wind and Deck 13's pretty trivial.

I did pretty okay with my Merc, I didn't have any AoE attacks at that point either.
