Harem Cats and Hornets

Has anyone worked out the new content with the harem cats in relation to the hornet quest?
Obviously it's time-sensitive as stated in the blog - started a new character and made it up to the quest point, but it doesn't seem to open any dialogue before or after talking to Sanders.
