greyed out buttons

so im trying to get atugia to join my group, and even though i can still move around and interact with the npc's, the journal, data and menu buttons are greyed out like they would be during a cutscene. does anyone know how to fix this?

now i cant even save my game! and the auto save hasnt done it's job in awhile even with the feature turned on.

Can't reproduce. What were you doing before it got blocked? Does it happen with a new character?

i was just playing the game. i didnt use a save editor, i had made a human warrior, had cait and ryn in my party, had the orb that lets me go to kiyoko's place in the astral realm, my group was level 4 and i was just trying to raise money to get a couple items. i had also started den of foxes. tho i think it might have had more to do with the fact that i was in the patreon beta, because once i reverted back to the public version of the game on steam, the issue hasnt happened since.
