Hey everybody! I'd like to announce the release of the demo for our first ever text based game. Inspired by Trials in Tainted Space, Breeding Season, and Corruption of Champions, I give you Gift of Life.

Gift of Life is a free text game centered around the themes of monster breeding. Set on your own personal breeder's ranch, you, the player, get to experience the wonders of breeding monsters such as minotaurs, unicorns, and dragons. With an expandable space afforded to you, you can keep numerous monsters on your upgradable ranch and explore the wilds of Eldorado to collect and breed more. Scenes will be adapted to your characters' build, sex, and skin tone (among other things), so the game is built to accommodate your breeding needs.

Did someone say "Combat"?
GoL's combat will initially use a simple, turned based combat system in which your PC and monsters of your choosing will accompany you out into the wilds in the hopes of wearing down and taming some of the wildest, most powerful beasts in the land. With different skills, weapons, and combat roles, your character and monsters can punch, kick, and claw your way to the top of the breeder food chain. With continued support this system can be improved upon, with more sprites and options for you combat enthusiasts.

As Gift of Life is an adult experience, certain tastes will be catered to in various ways by different characters. The list of needs that will be accommodated includes, but isn't limited to: Breeding, Lactation, Oviposition, Hermaphrodites, Femboys, Hyper, Spanking, Auto-fellatio, Biting, TF, DP, S&M, Fighting & Wrestling, Feral (Monsters Only), Bondage, Impreg (if you couldn't guess.), Furry.

The basics seem to be promising but we are going to need a lot more than just character selection before we can rate the game fairly. But the ideas behind it seem promising.

An understandable point of view. More content is on its way, and will appear in the game over the week. Our first backers only build will be in 2 weeks, after we feel we've got sufficient content to warrant it. Thank you for your input, marsup.

Is the next version going to have some tool tips, to explain some of the chooses, like what characteristics does, and maybe traits, if you're going to include more?

That information and tool tips won't be in the next build, but they will be in the game before patron exclusive builds happen. Thanks for the question.

Greetings, breeders! welcome back to Team Brusken. We've got a nice, juicy update for you. Gift of Life effectively has twice the content of its initial release and is progressively getting bigger!

On top of this good news, custom character names and stats will be in the next big update for the game, which should be happening later this week, and the ??? bug has been fixed!

On top of all of this, our official artist, Spooky is working on some brand new art for GoL!

All this and more coming up!

Uh, that was... brief. Honestly, it barely counts as a demo because you don't get to experience even a second of actual GAMEPLAY, leaving you without any impression of what the game is actually like. A game's intro is important, true, but it's not what you're going to be spending the bulk of the game on.

I'm curious as to why you chose to call the spider woman a "Joro". I mean, I know what a Jorougumo is , but they would more commonly be called an Arachne- the term Jorougumo would be quite obscure even if you DIDN'T abbreviate it. You might have had better luck if Atlach=Nacha had ever been released in English. Come to think of it, I wonder if there'd be any mileage in pressuring MangaGamer to translate that?

Hey there, Breeders! Thanks a ton for the critiques and the questions.

To answer the question posed by Jash we shose to call Lillim a "Joro" because there are other kinds of Arachne within the world of GoL. With that in mind, specifying her race seemed like a better option. Thank you for the question.

As for other concerns as to the low amount of content in the game at the moment, we're working hard to get more examples of gameplay, images, and lewdness into the game. Thanks for voicing your concerns.

I really do hope this gets going past the early stages as I really like this and what it shows. Saying that, could you please say how your release's are numbered as the site does say 1.2.1 witch normally means the game has been released, had 2 large updates and a mino patch so I just like to know what your using the version numbers to mean so people like me can know what stage the game might be by a quick look at that

I'm interested in what you're planning, but I think you've gone the wrong route with development. One of the first things you should do when developing a game is to build a minimum viable product, or a tech demo of sorts. Basically, put together something that's going to look like your core gameplay as your first priority and then make stuff like character development and story after that. A good demo of a game has to show off the actual gameplay. As is, this may as well be a short story. There's nothing wrong with an interactive story, but that isn't what you're advertising. Focus on getting a basic breeding system designed and coded, play around with it and revise it. Then write up your intro to go with it. Trust me when I say you're going to be changing mechanics for your game as you go, it's better to get the key stuff out of the way first before you have to rewrite the intro to accommodate your changes.

Hey there Breeders! It's the moment you've all been waiting for. Tired of playing a monster breeding game that has no sex in it? Well we've got news for you! Sex is in the game! Hurry on over to the game and fuck your favorite monster until your heart's (and other body parts) content!

To Nox_softpaw, thanks for the question. To clarify, this build is the GoL demo Build 1 (because the demo is released) .6 (because we have made 6 major updates) .1 (Because there was some bug fixin'). Once we begin creating payed versions of the game, we will move to a fresh number, updating the demo about once a month so that all Breeders can enjoy the content.

TheDarkMaster, we're pleased to hear that you are interested in what we're planning. We've taken your suggestion and words of wisdom and thought about them wholeheartedly. While we don't disagree, we believe that it was in our best interest as a group to start from the beginning, as we began working on this game with only a writer and no programmer. That being the case, programming game mechanics with a person whose programming knowledge pales in comparison to that of an amoeba may have been a poorer decision. We're confident that we will be able to manage the strain of implementing the breeding mechanics as well as combat into the game and hope that you'll support us as we work our way toward those milestones. Thanks again for your advice.

Changelogs are on their way to the website as we speak! Monster stats are in the game, and combat is coming in hot alongside a whole new monster for you to tame and interact with!

Well that's an improvement, and there's some pretty interesting content in there, but the writing is extremely... well, it needs a lot of work, especially as it's a completely text-based game. There are a lot of mistakes, really weird sentences and extremely odd choices of words, not to mention outright typos and missing words. Like so many porn games, it BADLY needs a professional English editor. It's also still far too short. I played through what there was twice, once as a female breeder with Dmetri and once as a male breeder with Lillim. I thought it was neat that Dmetri actually provides the full-on bestiality experience I'd been hoping for with him, being completely non-humanoid and incapable of human speech, even though he's sentient, and Lillim was really hot too. But that's still all there was to it- create character, pick monster, fuck monster, the end. Maybe there would have been some more if I'd chosen not to fuck them, but why would anyone ever do that? Still no actual gameplay beyond the intro.

What We're Workin' on #2

Hey, Breeders. We've been having a rather hard week when it comes to production, but we're still holding on!

Combat is on its way into the game as we speak! With combat comes a new monster for you to tame and interact with, as well as new, hot scenes to view!

Our artist, Spooky-chan is currently trying to save her computer, which exploded, but she managed to finish our Aello sprite!

Our writer is currently still working on those intense repeatable scenes for you breeders to get into with your favorite monsters!

I do have to say that I really enjoyed the descriptions for both the Lycan and the Gryphon, though I didn't read through much of the interactions with the latter due to slight grievances with the seemingly impassible Strength Check... That and I croaked when Shade said he wasn't in to Males... Which is "fine"... But I do have to say that things like him are why I am into Small Dom... So I am hoping you can later persuade him to "experiment" or whatever one would call it. Will be nice to see what all this game has to offer once the demo let's you get past committing to a beast and the small amount of interaction currently available.

Actually there will be a little bit of both, however, we're currently focusing on Transformations for the player. They won't be overwhelming, but there will be certain things that the player can do to make themselves more monster-like. So sorry for the late response, we've hit a rather rough patch in development.
