Getting the new crewmembers

What exactly one is supposed to do, to get Mitzi and Shekka as crewmembers? I've activated the Mitzi cheat (no way I gonna replay that much of my playthrough), talked Shekka about her plan and gave her funds every time the game notified she was interested, I spent a week on Tarkus, and yet no sign of either getting onboard.

Shekka takes ages to get on board. The first couple of updates are very quick but then there are a few that take a good while to take.

No clue about Mitzi though. I'm not a backer.

Didn't Fen say that the code would still take a few days? Or did I imagine that?

For Shekka, talk about her Plan, get e-mail and then play Uncle Pennybags. Wait. Give more money. Wait. Give more money. Wait and then you can recruit her. It'll take about 30 in game days.

Ahh, so I get where I was mistaken, I was waiting for Mitzi to show up on the wrong planet (Tavros, not Tarkus) and did not wait for Shekka enough (a month, not a week). I suppose Mitzi still requires a whole week to show up. Do one gets any kind of message when Shekka is ready to come onboard, like when she wants for more dough for her project?

You should get an email once you've done all the funding that is Shekka basically feeling like her life's work was done on Tarkus and she wants to try something new... ie shacking up with Steele as their mechanic/engineer/snuggle buddy/lover.
