I was under the impression behemoth encounters were backer only. imagine my surprise while playing on the recent public build when i ran into a herm and female behemoth. got a save in the encounter area just in case you need it.

Having done some testing, I haven't come across Glowing Behemoth Crystals that weren't after a Behemoth encounter. Have the loose encounters been disabled?

If so, will disabling Behemoth fights make GBCs inaccessible outside the Cheat Menu until the Behemoths become Public?

Yeah public folks will have to cheat menu them in for now.

The event you found them with was a temporary placeholder that was removed for the new encounter - and we don’t really have systems for building content that excludes backers.
