It's better to do Stat Training (i.e Ten Tom Gym/Ramis/Syri) first, then spend your level up points. Stat training has diminishing returns, level up points do not. You can still max your stats, but it will take longer.

If you're not Stat Training, you don't want to spread your Stat Points out too much. 13/Level is enough to keep two stats maxed and one stat high-ish.
As a Kineticist, you want Will maxed, unless you're a Bimbo/Bro (Instinctive Psifocus). Int is useful, but not as much as you'd think, since most powers can't miss.
Unless you took Third Eye Aim, then you want it maxed.

I suppose I should have asked for Abilities. Perks are pre-determined by Class and Level, so they don't tell us much.

Gotcha, good to know. Also, update; I beat it. I did the EMP grenade thing every round. Thank you. :3

Anyone happen to have damage ideas against ancient warbot's?

Running as a Kineticist but even gravity crush and gravity flux w/ geothermal spike combo don't do a lot against that 2000+ health pool..

I'm hoping to take these guys down a little faster if possible.

While my Steele is a Tech Specialist, a couple of strategies that should work for everbody:
1) Fly. If your Steele cannot fly on their own, get a jetpack. Many of the Ancient Warbot's attacks are melee and won't connect if Steele is in the air.
2) Magma Crusher, or any other weapon that does continual damage like burning. Remember, give the gift that keeps on giving.

Guess I still don't understand why I hear a lot of people go for burning... doesn't look all that important.

I did give the magma crusher a shot just now, and using only it and flight, defeated the ancient warbot in 28 turns. A few crits in there were nice damage, but the dot was just extended and did 1 to 3 damage a turn (so 84 IF every tick was 3...)

The crusher's stun chance was a nice to see a few times over 28 turns, and flight certainly made only my shields and 20 health disappear from it's attacks.

Not convinced there isn't better out there, but I'll admit the crits and stuns make the Magma Crusher a tempting weapon. Could you tell me if there is more to these continual low-damage-over-time DoTs that I'm not seeing?

I've never really seen the point of the DoT, myself. It's decent at lower levels, but it doesn't scale with enemy HP/weapon damage. That said, longer fights are where it's best and I'd think of Burn Chance on Magma Crusher as a freebie. It also has Stun, which is much more useful. Crushing pairs well with Entropy Leech/Entropic Whip (but not vs Warbots specifically).

As a robot, EMP Grenades are guaranteed to Stun.
The Ancient Warbot has -100% resistance to Corrosive, so Acid Cloud is extremely effective, especially if you use it while the Warbot is Stunned for the auto-Crit.
You could also look into Hirudo Devourer or NaN Deconstructor. Vampiric should greatly increase your longevity.

Stun Chance compares the user's Physique/Aim vs the target's Physique + a random factor. Warbot has 75 Physique, which is the highest in the game so far.
Personally, I prefer Custom Shock Gear.

You specifically have a 100% chance to Run from the Warbot.

I did some more digging:
1. It is possible to proc Deep Freeze on Warbots with Entropy Leech. With Sensory Dampener and maxed Will, it's a 50% chance. Entropy Whip should be 75%.
2. Gravity Crush is Crushing.
3. Deep Freeze -> Gravity Crush, I did 1000+. You can Reality Schism for another 20%.
It's also 50% weak to Burning, so Thermal Sunder does decent damage for the cost, if you have the time or want to conserve Energy when finishing it off.
Burn DoT reduces Defense by 5.
