Naw, it's just a reference to Saturn. I mean, it's even written right there, "the rings that circle many planets." as in dust rings.

The name and description for Satyrite has multiple references as Star Trek was the main influence for the naming convention of the three major gems on Myrellion. Not only does the gem reference Star Trek (directly or indirectly; as ShySquare's links point out for both the Saytr race and the "striped pattern" of their Megas-Tu planet) and Saturn, the "Satyr" part of its name doubles as a callback to the saytr-morph NPC of CoC.
Lets not forget the MGQ reference, penny pulls a classic fox move.
OMG!! I can't believe I forgot about the fluffy Tail thing with Penny. Any other references from MGQ?
Well back in CoC you could run into a burning library with a purple naga trying to cook a potato on a stick while saying "hora hora", which is a direct reference to MGQ's Alice when she accidentally burned down a library to cook a potato.
Oh I've ran into her a lot on multiple playthroughs. I remember getting a staff afterwards. I'm surprised that there's no other references like the Four Heavenly Knights or something.
The revolver you can buy on Myrellion has the description "6 shots, more than enough to kill anything that moves" and I'm pretty sure that's a Metal Gear reference.
Is the "S/He goes on to detail the sex act called the ‘medusan cascade’" line during Ben/Bess talks a reference to Doctor Who's Medusa Cascade?

I'm pretty sure that Sydians are a reference to Rust Monsters from D&D. I mean they are basically just anthropomorphic Rust Monsters with a Fenoxo twist.
