Different Arona Pregnancy Trigger

From what I read from the patch notes, the path to Arona's pregnancy is from one of her companions giving birth. This makes unlocking the path while not on short pregnancy mode really annoying. Can there be a slight change on how it triggers or am I reading it wrong?

Considering her whole preg pitch is her getting jealous and hornt about her friends having your kids: no, no changes planned. Short preg mode is on by default for a reason.
