No, I'm not talking about dicks here. Jeez.

I'm torn between the basic Curved Blade and the Balanced Blade available later from Kohaku.

Curved Blade Balanced Advantage
Crit Bonus: 10 10 Push
Accuracy: 10 0 Curved
Damage: 40 (Pen) 30 (Pen) Curved
Special: None +15% Crit Dam Balanced

Curved Blade Balanced
Crit Bonus: 10
Accuracy: 10
The balanced blade is better for crits so if you get a lucky strike ring from Kohaku instead of the charm to raise your crit even more it's probably better as long as you don't run into anyone with a shield. The +10 accuracy also gives you a bit more chance to hit in general which is better then 10 ap imo.

I dunno how but I posted before I was done typing up my analysis of the two swords, but thanks. I'm leaning towards Balanced, but I posted my save file so folks could see what I'm working with as a whole instead of comparing the two weapons in a vacuum. I do have the Lucky Strike ring in Storage.

From looking at your save I suppose you could sacrifice the points you spent for presence and willpower to get more cunning and higher crit but every point in cunning gives you "only" a 1% increase so whether that is worth it is a question for you. Also worth noting is that because it does not have the catalyst flag the +10 crit and accuracy from your sword will not apply to shatter and you don't have a lot of spellpower in the first place so unless you have it for rp changing it for cleave might be better.

Hmm, that's worth considering. I went with Shatter because a) RP like you said and (more importantly, IMO) b) I thought it would work better against flying enemies.

I think flying gives + 15 evasion against melee so since you don't get the + 10 accuracy it is only a tiny bit better. Still if it is for rp then efficiency has to be sometimes sacrificed xD.

Edit: Most enemies also don't start combat flying so you can just use cleave turn one before they get in the air. I believe so far the only enemy to start in the air is the avanai/roc combo in the rift.
