I see thiefs get the short end of the stick with these level 8's.

But when did twist the knife get nerf? maybe I AM suffering from the mandela effect but twist the knife did half of your damage extra, ie if the target didnt have a neg status, and you did say 500 damage, it would add another 50% of that if the target DID have a neg stat. but now it reads it adds 50 attack power, which is really not worth the perk, and since classes and skills arent locked, now, theres no reason to play thief, hell even the new L8 encounter isnt impressive, the at will ass, its downright worse than just keeping your current build.

the current at will gives obscuremnt, and if obs procs an attack, stacks with the encounter, hell as a charmer with the positive buff 2x perk, thats 12X obscure for 50% each, ie 600% Damage; which is more than assasinate.

sure wasting turns in dark difficulty may seem horrible to you, I play story and troll the poor drider queen with this shit.

Now, I can ignore the new thief skills, get night shroud from the black mage tree, and thats 16 turns of obs for 50 damage on the next turn, thats 800%

Twist the Knife? just 50 ATK power. not 50% bonus damage, just 50 atk power?

Well twist the knife with the extra atk power in my opinion helps you crit a bit easier even without spending skill points into cunning bc iirc if your atk power goes above a certain threshold it becomes an auto crit. But honestly yeah theifs get the short end of the stick with these powers are pretty mid but not as terrible as you make it out to be.

I still use thief because it gives a +10% crit rate sleep buff to the party and double debuff duration has its uses.

That would be accuracy, not attack power.
