So I've played this game for a few years but havent really since like last year and always had fun trying things.
now in a couple of days when the next public drops, Ill download and play the game. start from scratch and looking at the new changes from an year ago, I am making a human noble scion charmer just to get my +3 then job into a basic warior get all warrior skills lv8 bcz they look best, scutor set for the agi. ok why is the breastplate not a heavy when the rest of the set IS? but thats what veteran is for.
but the one thing I've never really payed any attention to is penetration. [laugh, I worked very hard for that one]
and that another thing I plan to play as, while not really maxing it out, I still plan to use weapons with that stat high, and I have really only got two options for my dual wielder.
the light hammers and franciscas.
I have never used the hammers, but they do have the most at 25, AND crushing damage instead of penetrating. they seem like the obvious choice for this restart
BUT then I remember how useless my melee team like brint and cait are against even the harpies. swinging around their axes and clubs rolling on the ground like idiots while those birdbrain bitches laugh at them. leaving me with my thrown weapons to do all the damage.
and while francs are not bad, hell 30 pen dam 20 armor pen is pretty great but there are a lot more enemies now, and I remember the horror of the undermountain last year when my fully kitted op dual flaming dagger/ fire companions got neg'd by 100 penetrating and 100 fire resists. so im leaning towards the new[for me] light hammers.
How many flying monsters are there now? Is no range only melee viable when your used to thrown weapons that let you use ranged and melee skills while providing the ranged benefit ON melee skills.
cleave with melee and your no better than brint looking up at the sky with your dick in your hand while a bird shits on your face. cleave with daggers? what birds
also I used to use the cry petal for holy and left hand always has the sanc glad, and used charge wep and it seems to do good enough damage even with no willpower, hell the difference in monks ale max willpower and none didnt seem that great, I always had pres, str and agi as stats anyway. Is elemental damage still op, charge weapon isnt gonna outperform the new at will double attack as charge only applies to the right hand while a full 2nd hit with 2 hands by my calc would do 1/3 more damage even after adjusting.
are there way more evil monsters now like imps that get wrecked by holy? or can I forsake both charge weapon and holy prop weapons for double attack and franciscas/light hammers
is crushing worth it to let go of the ranged ability of thrown weapons ?
since I will pay to zero stats when I get the set, bcz ill need agi till then, then its max pres/agi and str all the way
and we know toughness is useless, unless it addes 5 defence and 15 hp, so no.
what should my 4th stat be? I have tried both cunning and willpower by drinks but they wear off so I dont pay the 4th stat any heed. but now I need to put points in deliberately, so which one?
