Charmer/thief or thief/mage?

So ik theres some upcoming content for elf player characters and i wanted to make an elf run specifically for that and i was thinking of doing a dual class build but ion rlly do those so i was wondering which build had more synergy a charmer thief build or a thief black mage build? And would the dawn blade be viable in either

Thief/Mage is fantastic -- basically since the game came out my main PC has been a Thief that runs a bunch of white mage powers that use your weapon as part of casting, since you get the benefits of Twist the Knife. If you want to use spells as a Thief at all, you owe it to yourself to at least grab Thunderbrand.

And yes, Dawnsword is great for any spellblade-type character.
