Bugged Burt Boutique

I was going to sell something to Burt, I can talk and interact with him just fine, but when clicking "Shop" the game stops working. I have done some rudimentary testing by simple trial and error and can conclude that nothing happens when I don't have items in my inventory(presumably because I don't actually go to the shop screen) but things do go wrong when I DO have items, regardless of if I can actually sell them to Burt or not.
