Best companions to take in each area?

For story and extra dialogues.

As a general rule, companions that have relations to the area will obviously produce some extra dialogues. Other than that, Cait seems to be the one that speaks up in any area the most. Some companions like Atuga and Azzy pretty much have nothing to say ever... I think.

For the Rift area on top of Winter City, Ryn and Quin seems to have the most dialogues.

I am planning on doing the centaur village questline next and was wonder who has extra dialogue for it?

Etheryn has special dialogue for almost all of the environmental tiles in the Frostwood. One of those is a special scene with Cait at the Temple of Terrestrial Fire.

Everyone I've run with has some mentions in the centaur village but there's an option that only appears if Cait is in the party or you're a White Mage. I'd assume Quin has extra dialogue but I've not actually brought him to that quest so I can't confirm it.

Cait is generally a good companion for extra dialogue because one of her interests is history, meaning she knows a little bit about almost everything in the Marches.

Kiyoko changes every single encounter with a Kitsune in the game, with the sole exception of the ninja.

The wandering floofs in frostwood also get new dialogues for every scene.

I think she also changes one of Kurako's sex scenes, if not the other parts of her encounter. Could be wrong, though.
