Bess/Ben help

Hey y'all, I'm playing through TiTS right now and doing all of the crew missions. It's all going great. I'm trying to get through Bess' stuff right now and it's been all fine up until event 28. I habe 100% affection and she's in lover status. It says I need to have a turret, be on new Texas/mhen'ga, have 6 dates, and it's a 1/2 chance of triggering. I've spent around 15 days of going to her crew thing to trigger the event that makes her go missing. It's just not working. Is it that I'm getting terrible luck or a bug? I'm on the ship you take from pirates with the probe. Max level and done with all the main stuff. Any help out there?

According to the code, the requirements are: Bess is your lover, you've been on at least 6 dates with her, Event 27 is complete, it's been at least 3.5 in-game days since Event 27, Bess's Affection is at least 80, and the ship is currently at the hangar on Mhen'ga or New Texas. Once all of those are met, Event 28 should always occur (i.e. no random chance) the next time you approach her. There is a flag that suppresses Bess events, but that's cleared whenever you leave her follower menu. Maybe you should check her Event Map to see if you're really at where you think you're at? If it seems like you are, then maybe you should attach your save file so others can test this.

They made mention of needing a turret on their ship, from memory i didn't have a manned one when i did this but maybe they have none and just flee from space combat? The scene does have give you the choice to blow them up with your ship if i recall.

You recall correctly, but no ship weapons are required at all to pick that option, let alone access this event in the first place. Unless 'has at least one weapon installed on the ship' has been added as an access requirement since v0.8.065.

I'm adding the file. From what I can tell everything should be good. Event map says I've completed event 27. I don't know let me know what you find please I'm super confused. Spent a lot of time getting everything done it'd suck to not be able to do one thing. Who knows, maybe I'm stupid and overlooked one small thing haha.

Yeah so it looks like that event needs a turret now, might've been added recently, i know someone added stuff to her content. So, to get it to work, go to Tarkus and uninstall something off your ship then buy a turret of some kind and you should be right. I sold the machine gun off and bought a laser turret, flew to New Texas and hopped back on the ship, spoke to 'Julia' and it procced right away. Btw, next time you're on Uveto, speak to the dock worker at the hangar, she sells more stuff, specifically, crew quarter upgrade, quite handy.
