Beating Kas at WC and Kunai/bleed bug(?)

This strategy is pretty inconsistent/cheesy.

Level 6
Class: Thief
Starting Bonuses: +3 Agility
Attributes: Strength, Agility, Cunning
Resting Bonuses: Sharpen Blades, Ranger's Quarry, War Paint
Boon: Winterberry Wine
Powers: Song of Storms, Sure Shot, Dastardly Trick, Unbreakable
Equipment: Sanctified Gladius, Blank Scroll, Witch's Hat, Senninbari, Royal Gloves, 2*Wizard Ring, 3*Kaelirra's Tears
Equipment switch: Unequip Gladius + equip Kunai, Champion's Belt, 2*Lucky Strike
Party: Queen!Etheryn, Chieftain!Arona
Difficulty: Dark

Battle - Arona or Ryn must survive Kasyrra's first two actions
Unbreakable > Arona or Ryn use Blessing > Song of Storms > (Equipment switch) Sure Shot > Dastardly Trick > 3*Kaelirra's Tears > Sure Shot

This was done on Dark difficulty, which makes the damage check a bit tight, but DoTs are unaffected by Dark so not a huge discrepancy. Using an actual weapon in the off-hand in 0.4.16 might be higher damage, but unnecessary.


Kunai/bleed bug(?):

Weapon buffs such as: Naptha, Blood Iris, Aurora Arrow, and Song of Storms, increase the damage Kunai's bleed deals at a 1:1 ratio. Normally this isn't a big deal but since Song of Storms can reach high values (1:1 spellpower ratio) it leads to some insane bleeds. Can hit the Lureling for around 490. This only works if Kunai is in the main-hand as the off-hand doesn't gain from weapon buffs.

This is irrelevant to the fight above, but bleeding's tooltip also says it reduces healing on the target by 50%, but I don't think this is working; Liulfr's heal on Sleipnir was unaffected at least.

gonna have to tie levels to main storyline progression at some point XP

If you mean in terms of capping the levels, the lack of that is by design. Savin has mentioned that the reason Kas has alternate dialogue if you beat her in Winter City is because by the time the game is finished, it should be possible in theory for the player to grind to max level and beat her 'legitimately'. That it's possible to exploit various means to do so below that point is another matter entirely and one that has prompted more than one reworking of mechanics already and will probably prompt more right up until the game hits the fabled '1.0'.

Players are tricky sorts, always finding new ways to game the system or discovering edge cases, loopholes or bugs that the devs didn't think of. xD

Fixed for next release. The bleed will still get attack power and crit bonuses as if it were weapon damage, but will no longer get any other weapon buffs. The base damage from the actual strike still gets everything of course.
So, it was really a bug?

The bleed amount probably was, if its like darkest dungeon where critting with status gave it HUGE numbers comapred to normal, like my average bleed on 4.14 is like 46 at the highest, but with the abailty for offhand to crit they were probably 100+ EASILY.
