Attack Drone and Drones

Does anybody have the specifics about how the drones you find interact with the Tech Specialist ability "Attack Drone"? It says on TamWolf that it gets rid of the shield bonus of Attack Drone, but does it replace it, or are you better off taking Shield Booster? Does Attack Drone affect the damage dealt by drones? My build uses Attack Drone, Drone Control, and the TamWolf v2.0, so I was curious.

Any drone you equip in your accessory slot overrides your attack drone.

Drones you equip override your attack drone. All drones except bimbowulfe have two damage equations, one is active if you have attack drone perk and one that is active if you don't have the perk. The former does significantly more damage.

Shield Booster is better hands down.

So how much damage do I lose if I take Shield Booster instead of Attack Drone? 'Cause that's a ton of extra shielding, but my shields don't go down often as it is.

drones do pretty shit amount of damage, despite taking up a fucking accessory slot if they're not the default.

I dunno, it does over 20 if I recall correctly. Been a while though, so I could be wrong. It's an extra attack at any rate, and hits flying for some reason.

Can somebody tell me how to aquire the Mk. II Tamwolf upgrade? I've played through KQ2 multiple times but haven't found it. Do you have to be a Tech Specialist to get it? Because even my Techies cannot find it. Do you have to not fight the Lapinara Pirate in the Barracks to get it? Somebody please help me! I want my Tamwolf Mk. II so bad!

Yes, with the tank in the center. As far as I know you need to be a Techie, because TamWolf needs to be functional.

I thought it could be anyone because the upgrade upgrades Tam Wolf to 2.0 if you're a drone specialist techie with a fixed Tam

I only play Techie, and if you chose Shield Booster it does let you fix TamWolf and get 2.0.

As a Smuggler or Mercenary you can bring the broken TW to get it fixed, but not get 2.0? I had no idea, I kinda thought it was a Tech only thing.

Well that was the way I read it. You find tools to modify Tam. The wiki says if you have the broken version, approaching the kennels will repair it and having the repaired version will upgrade it. Only if you're a drone specialist will you get the initially repaired drone and allow you to upgrade it. If you got 2.0 from broken as a shield tech, then either the wiki is wrong or you found a bug

Hmm... That was a long time ago, it could be recently implemented. I'll make a new save real quick to check.

Edit: Yeah, you have to be a Drone Tech specifically... Well, that makes up my mind, unless I wanna find a new accessory instead of doing drone stuff.
