Are the Pirate Juggernauts absurdly strong, or do I just suck?

Seriously, whenever a pirate juggernaut shows up, the difficulty spike is *insane*... I go from utterly trashing every enemy, to instantly dying. In particular, whenever he uses the machine gun, he will invariably kill off about 70% of my total effective HP (shield+hp), leaving me dead or dead hte next round... He also stuns, which lasts for like 2-3 rounds which invariably kills me, and he's got some 300+ effective hitpoints, making it basically impossible to kill him via attacks. At least it's possible to Lust him down, as far as I can tell, but I can't get him down because he keeps killing me first!

EDIT: not that kind of sucking, Steele does plenty of that

What kit do you got, what class are you, and what are your stats?

Pick tech specialist, level to rank 10, pick gravidic disruptor, boosted charges and power surge. Spam gravidic for true damage and power surge whenever your shield is low. Boosted charges should help you tank his aegis for quite some time and power surge brings your shield back up once its down. Never try to stun or blind him, it's too risky.

Tam wolf helps out quite a lot as well, be sure to grab him from Stellar Tether and his upgrade module in the pirate base.

With this particular character I'm a level 8 Mercenary focusing on melee. In that fight I had a Vamp Blade, and I was wearing a Nova Shield Generator and a Weavemail shirt. Stats at teh time was about 35/35/26/26/31/70

My tech specialist has had similar issues though

You should get a kinetic weapon, the merc's class weapon perks don't apply to the Vamp Blade. The Nova generator and the weavemail shirt don't have the best physical resistances, which is what the juggernaut deals, so I would recommend getting the Reaper Mk. I shield from the Nyrean Princesses' Orgy and an armor with better physical resistances, maybe the goo armor. I'm not exactly up-to-date with how all of the armors were changed with the revamp last month. I would also spend some time at the gym and get your core stats up, those are rather low for the juggernaut fight.

Thanks for the tips!

I haven't managed to find a good physical weapon yet, which is why I'm using the vamp blade... The Weavemail was chosen partially because it had 8 defense compared to my previous 2 (I was using the Atma Mk. 1 armor before that) but also had a Sexyness rating of 2, which I needed for that fight. I might switch it out for a more physically impressive armor set once I find a good one.

I haven't gotten to teh orgy yet... Thanks for reminding me where I found the shield though! I was tyring to remember where, but I forgot.

And those stats are at like 90% of max... At level 8, the max is 40, so I quit gymming at 35 because it took so much time (And also I got the halloween party invite, and I wanted to get me that centaur suit)

At any rate, it sounds like the juggernaut is over-tuned for the level range you can encounter him at... At level 7 it's almost impossible to beat him without being super lucky, it seems. Which I was, as I did eventually beat him; if he does not stun you or use his super OP gun, he can be beat before he kills you

I play tech mainly, so physical weapons really aren't something I know, but I do know that pretty much any physical weapon you can buy on Uveto is going to be better for you than the Vamp Blade. It doesn't sound like you have the goo armor, imo it's the most versatile armors in the game, and there are multiple upgrades to let it keep up as you rise in level. I would really recommend it, since it also has a large tease boost.

The juggernaut is hard for level eight, but not unbeatable with your stats. I would just recommend getting your strength up to 40 before you go back.

Juggernaut is face roll-tier for ranged mercs, for every other class I just use tease. I understand not maxing out all your stats but running around with your primary combat stat not maxed out is probably not a good idea.

The reason why my primary combat stat is not maxed out is because I didn't know about the gym, and tried to do an "even spread" thing because I didn't want to get locked out of anything due to stats. Having played the game a bit more since then, this doesn't seem to be a danger, so in the future I'll never put anything into physical stats, but rather put everything into combat stats, with spillovers going to other stats.

I beat the juggernaut fairly easily during KQ2 as my lvl 10 drone oriented tech specialist using this kit:

Armor: Black Void Armor Plates (or whatever its called) found during the quest.
Melee Weapon: Vamp Blade
Ranged Weapon: Salamander Pistol
Shield: Reaper Mk. 1 Shield
Accessory: Tam Wolf

I used a combination of Shield Hack and my Vamp Blade to get his shields down, then I just spammed my ranged attack with Double Shot till I won. I guess it helped that he mostly attacked Kara, poor girl she would've died had she not been constantly healing herself.

Mercs facing the Juggernaut should make use of the "Take Cover" "Rapid Fire" and "Second Shot" perks.
Then:
- Get your best gear and a couple of health items/stamina restorers
- First round, take cover and use Rapid Fire. Combine with the Second Shot perk, you're going to be sending out 4 fairly powerful shots at him.
- Rinse and repeat, taking cover again when the protection ends. If needs be, use the Second Wind perk to restore health or energy.

You can usually take him down before he knocks out Kara.

The Juggernaut might be a beast, but then again, so is Merc!Steele.

IDK with Smuggler, flashbang and shot, with the aimed and second shot perks, I can get him to half health with Emmy's impressivly tweaked salamander rifle by turn 2

... There's a difficulty setting in this game? Huh, TIL.
There's an 'Easy Mode' toggle from the main menu if that's what you want.

Jigglynaut is definitely beatable with the right stats and strategy. It's just that most people are used to face rolling fights(Which is okay, because TiTs is a sex game mainly) that they always get caughf off guard and get their shit pushed in.

Which I do find pretty hilarious.

As far as I know, you can train all your stats but willpower. You can raise INT talking to Syri about books in her down time, and raise STR, AIM, and REF at the gym on New Texas. Also, on Uveto's wilderness, there's this little shop that sells the most amazing melee weapon, the Plasma Hawk. I don't know if the re-balancing changed it's effectiveness, but it is, in my opinion, the best damn murder on a stick you can buy currently.

Plasma and other energy based weapons are still quite strong after the nerf, most physical weapons got downgraded to dirt though.

You've clearly not seen the weapons Chaurmine gives a romanced PC. :catte: They're amazingly powerful.

Willpower can be trained through Mirrin on New Texas.
