I'm sure its been asked before in the past but I cannot find anything so I apologize for reasking.

However.

I did Kara quest 2 before getting the throne (talked to shade and everything) and I cannot seem to go get the throne at all. Had five events of doing throne sex hoping the text reappears... HOWEVER, did I mess up? Am I unable to get the throne now and find out about shade being a half sister or what??

It's not automatic; you have to select the "Throne?" option from Taivra's menu (make sure you have 5k credits on you). Even then, it's still too late for you to find out she's your half-sister, as she needs to be on Myrellion for that and she moves to Uveto after talking to her after KQ2.

You can speak to her on Uveto before doing the K2 quest..
