Trying to develop my skill in writing erotica/porn, so having a podcast that I could listen to while doing other things would help.

Are there any good ones out there that I could listen to?

Thanks

Do such podcasts even exist anywhere?

That's a helluva niche.

I hate to ask if you've tried Google because of course you've tried Google. Hell, I tried Google and saw two right off the bat. The Smutlancer and Rose and Dagger. But I'm sure you've seen those, because who wouldn't try Google?

I did, though probably with poor search terms. I didn't come across neither of those, so thank you for mentioning them. So far the best I've seen is this:

The initial sense I got when trying to find on my own is that I'm not sure where to find the good ones. Often when any normie podcast goes into erotic topics, they often get akward shy and giggle like its some sort of biohazard taboo, instead of just talking about it like its another common basic thing. Baggage from culture/history and so on that seems drags them down.

My Google-Fu is admittedly strong. :p

Just a brief scan of the two I found leads me to believe they specialize in helping people write smut. They're not just talking about sex/porn/smut in general. None of the usual, "She got tiddies!" "I like BEWBS" crap.

Yup, I literally just finished listening to a 40 minute episode of Smutlancer and they definitely seem right in the correct category I'm looking for. I like that they're younger and more of my generation and mindset, than the middle aged boomer ladies I linked above. This is excellent!

Thank you.

I'll keep listening and probably post back onto this thread with any good episodes I find, incase someone else is also looking this now or in the future.

Got some info to share.

------------------------

https://thesmutlancer.com/topics/episodes/

Checked out Smutlancer more thoroughly. Its very well made, the quality of the podcasts and content are top-tier and theres 93 episodes so far. Each episode is about 30-40 minutes, features pleasant audio quality and voices - a good pace and good amount of content that doesn't feel overwhelming.

It is more about the business side, more oriented towards running a sex blogging business in particular, discusses the realities of erotic content + real life and occasionally talks about misc topics that can touch on writing sex scenes. Not that much about though.

I'd endorse it for sure. Good stuff.

Rose and Dagger
on the other hand is much more focused on the actual writing of sex scenes. It goes more indepth on the different aspects, tools and mechanics, concerns and styles that go into writing work itself.

They've got 20 episodes and they usually go on for over an hour, ranging from 0:40:00 h to 1:25:00 h in lenght. I'd say the quality of this podcast is okay, but not great. It tends to feel rambling, unsure and overwhelming. It doesn't feel as snappy and organized as Smutlancer's content and keeping track of the technical things about writing they talk about is tough.

Still, they talk about writing smut and how to write it better, so I appreciate it nonetheless.

The cool thing is that they have reference links on their blog for their topics where I could go and read up on the things they talked about, so even if I felt jarring listening to the podcast or couldn't keep up, I can still get the info in readable format afterwards.

After pondering more, I realized that what I probably needed more was to listen to smut itself. I thought it would help me better grasp how to write intuitively, kind of like a child learning a language as they grow while immersed in an environment that has it actively present.

So for that, I found this cool resource: https://www.girlonthenet.com/audio-porn/

Basically 3-10 minute audio clips of various smut stories from various authors. Theres fiction, irl experiences, sex advice and everything in between. Easy to browse and the quality is enjoyable too. There are about 190+ clips and more being added.
