Any Aquatic Aficionados/Attention... wanters...? Water stuff?

Alliteration is hard. And I don't mean watersports. (in the fetish sense)

I've only just gotten into this game but I'm definitely finding stuff to enjoy, at least when I'm in the right mood. And since I'm pretty good at writing lots and lots of text about imaginary sex when in the right mood, I was wondering what I could contribute to the game. So maybe I ought to play to my strengths; my obsession with aquatic life of various kinds. I wanted to ask if there's a significant amount of interest among enthusiasts, at least the people who read the Ideas board, for aquatic characters and scenes, even a world to go with it? And any particular ideas I could use as inspiration?

I know that a shark transformation is already in the game, though I haven't tried it out yet and plan to. (and for some reason everyone loves vaguely punk/raver girl sharks) As the name might suggest I also have a thing for mermaids and I think I could write some scenes with them, though a mermaid transformation presents several obvious problems. Orcas, dolphins and other cetaceans are also on the table, and also of course cephalapods present a lot of opportunities. And even plain old underwater sex is a surprisingly common theme.

The exact approach to that might be tricky; the first idea that came to mind was establishing a waterlogged planet, perhaps a tropical paradise planet (like Risa) that's mostly ocean and seemingly lacks local intelligent life, and thus has become a popular destination and home for aquatic races and people who've mutated themselves into aquatic forms. However, there might actually be native inhabitants that are rather tentacular in nature...

(that presents its own problems, or maybe opportunities, in that aquatic adventuring, while not that difficult in a text game medium, means that player characters are going to be at a disadvantage unless they've mutated themselves into an aquatic form or purchase/hire diving equipment, which could come in different forms/ranks. Given me half a chance and I might come up with specific aquatic equipment for every career track because I'm crazy)

If enough people think that's worth the effort, though I imagine any decent content isn't unwelcome, I can put some effort into learning how these things are done and try to write up some decent test scenes. Probably starting with NPCs in existing places to start with.

Long ago there was plans to make PC visit beach on Mhen'ga so if someone else would (or you) work on adding few rooms desc to allow PC reach that location it could be a starting point for adding water scenes you meantioned. And that plnas was in Vanae x-packs and the marine race was water version of vanae called Sacae (or similary named - it was so long ago so I not sure if I spelled that race name properly).

I like water stuff, so here's hoping you write quality stuff on it. But, as some say, don't gauge interest - just write it and they will come.

establishing a waterlogged planet
oh my god don't write a planet

Probably starting with NPCs in existing places to start with.
That, or related TFs/scenes could be the wise way to begin with.

Well, also fishing (ha!) for ideas on where such things might fit into the setting so far, since I'm not 100% familiar with the game quite yet.

Might run with the idea that the shark-morphs and mermaids (and orcas) are entirely artificial races, unless there's some particular fun ideas for aquatic races and associated adventures. Wouldn't be too dumb an idea; being aquatic basically opens up entire frontiers for you to explore and live, hell, 2/3 of Earth, where everyone else can only visit. Mermaids, being especially adapted to the water at the expense of getting around easily on land, are probably gene-modded literally up the gills and insufferable.

You could just go all out on that idea: the people and place are specifically designed to design/test/enhance aquatic mods. It would explain why different biomes for a certain type of sea tf is right next to another one. And it being artificial would let you place it literally everywhere.

Unfortunately, this idea sounds like it would be at least the size of the Breedwell Centre. Not really the best thing for a newbie writer.

I wouldn't call myself a newbie writer, though new to this, heh.

...hm. A prototype for aquatic settings? Suddenly thinking a spaceship that's built with an aquatic crew in mind. (There's precedent, the TNG Enterprise's apparent dolphin navigators! Much better at navigating in a 3D space, or so they claim) Not necessarily a big setting, but one requiring an aquatic adaptation gene-mod or SCUBA gear to get around outside the visitors' areas.

Also workshopping a random sharkgirl encounter. Probably a lot like the pic above, but the personality could be fun... Smooth or Rough options? Also, wondering if dialogue events can cause minor, effectively cosmetic Health damage, because she's likely to get lovebitey. (Does make me wonder, can the game support scars? It is based around all kinds of changes to your character after all)

(Excuse my rambling, but I find I develop ideas best through discussion, and basically the Socratic method. I trust you all to be creative and positive people who will help inspire us all)

Apologies for double post, but I think I also got some more ideas to work on/check if they fit into the game.

A pretty cliche party-girl shark seems like a fun place to start. I got an idea for a dance club on Tavros Station, maybe set up in a currently unused bulkhead where they can make as much racket as they want. I also realised that I am going to have a lot of fun describing how various anatomically weirder species dance.
