An Idea for a Darker New Texas

Even though it appears to have a darker side to it for the most part it seems to be a idyllic place. But what if it had a even darker side to it? What if let's say that since it's founding every year a few cowgirls and cowboys have gone missing never to return? What if they were abducted and sent to a big meatpacking plant in the stars where they were processed and butchered their meat then sent the to be enjoyed by the richest of the rich who view it as a prized delicacy like no other. Finally what if the scraps were sent back to New Texas where they were ultimately devoured by the unwitting populace. And that my friends is the secret of New Texas BBQ.

I don't know it's just an idle thought I had while thinking about cow people and steak

You... do know New Texan citizens aren't even really cow/bull-morphs right? They're Modded Humans, Kaithrit, Ausar, all modded with cow/bull attributes/parts thanks to the treatment. It's not even cannibalism in the first place because they aren't even eating each other.
