Altum Depths is an FPS / RPG hybrid wherein players lead a clan of emotionally driven NPC's to profit and glory, but mostly profit.
Major fetishes which will be included: Impregnation, vanilla, consensual hand holding. Not to be included: snuff-scat-guro-toilet.



Inspired by games such as; Crusader Kings, Aquanox, and Rogue Trader, Altum Depths is destined to become a fully featured sandbox which will offer hundreds of hours of entertainment. Key to this goal are the ACTORS (see FAQ for details) within the Game World which will help, hinder, romance, and kill one another based upon their complex personality matrices.

Explore an underwater overworld settled by underwater cities, and interact with the randomly generated NPC's which populate them.

During a game the player will control the fate of their own faction of Actors, and the leader of this faction will be the players avatar. Time moves quickly in Altum and in a few short hours the Actor you play as will die of old age! Move quickly to accomplish goals with the time your actor has left, find a spouse, and rear an heir, because in Altum Depths death is not the end. Instead when the player is killed in combat (or the overworld) the clans designated heir (who you choose) will become your new Avatar! The people of Altum favor leaders from established bloodlines, and this is a good thing, because in a few short generations you're first character will have established a broad lineage of descendants.

Fixed a bug where the escape menu didn't show on top of the harbor. It now appears on the over everything.
Fixed the Mouse Cursor being visible during Instant Action
Fixed the Health Bar in Instant Action warping
Fixed: Main Menu button from pause menu now properly loads player back to Start Menu Scene



Added Purchasable Assets to the Harbor. Buying or winning more assets is how a Player will build a stable financial income to offset the mounting upkeep costs of more expensive weapons + subs.
Actors can now be male or female. Actors are 30% likely to be male, and 70% likely to be female.
Added 3 male actor image decks.


*Most UI stretching problems can be solved by setting the games resolution to 1920 x 1080 in the settings -> video tab.

NEW BUILD Alpha 1.2

ADDED:

Massive Improvement to Combat. It feels much more fluid now because;
enemies engage at mildly randomized ranges,
enemies fire weapons at mildly randomized rates,
enemies no longer relentlessly follow and attack, instead they spend roughly 1/3 of their time re-positioning themselves,
enemies now swim as skimmers at mildly randomized heights,
enemies are now worth bounty while playing the campaign, you can cash in the bounty in any major city (there is still only Hydropolis)


Being hit by projectiles now plays a related sound
Blinker shots now have simple particle effects and look better.


Actor stat totals are properly displayed in the inspector, stat totals are the equivalent of stat base values plus an attribute's value
Actors now Age and Age is displayed in the inspector
Actors gain +1 to a random attribute when they age another year
Auto Save System - This will be expanded upon in the future. For now you have one auto save file. Game is saved whenever you enter combat. Adding a save system is a time consuming process. It took up the majority of development time this week.


For now the campaign consists of assaulting the pirate hot-spot, and cashing in the bounty money, buys up assets to gain income, and X-ing the Hydropolis actors (which automatically consent... for now)

Fixed a bug where portraits wouldn't show.
Fixed the game not autosaving when you assaulted the pirate hotspot. Now launching into encounters is done through a panel.
Fixed Subs are now properly emitting bubbles again.
Changed, you can now exit virtually all UI panels by pressing E. R opens, or proceeds with a panels action.

Added 15 Risque images to seduction scenes
Still struggling with the first and second actors in Hydropolis and having their portraits properly display. Which is wierd given that those portraits are built and scripted identically to the others.

Next Update: Actors will have names. Generic porn will be added to sex scenes. More fixes and improvements.

The new maps update!

Added a wingman to help out in combat. Has their own unique ship and custom scripts to make them more effecient fighters than generic pirate enemies.
Added a new Pirate Hot Spot mechanic. Going into the future, the location of Pirate Hot Spots will be randomized. However, even now engaging Pirates at deeper points will increase the difficulty of the encounter.
Added 2 new maps. The midlands (representing depths of 150 - 350m) and the lowlands (representing depths of 350-600m) are now the areas you will fight in depending on where you encounter enemies on the overworld map. These maps lack many details, and they will be better filled in by the 12th. The maps are immediately playable through the new INSTANT ACTION buttons on the main menu.
Added 2 more actor slots to Hydropolis, it is going to be the biggest city in Altum after all.
Added 4 new female character image decks bringing the total to 10.

Fixed a bug where the underwater fog wasn't layering over the surface reflective layer properly.

Soon: More Male character image decks, subs will implode when reach zero health, TORPEDOS, Wingman represented on Worldmap, MINIQUESTS

ALPHA 1.3

ADDED, you can now purchase upgrades for your sub. Going into the future, all upgrades will stack with one another and automatically apply to every sub you pilot, so there it's always a good idea to buy them. Purchase increased HP (hull points), a larger battery capacity, and my favorite; an improved battery charger so you can fire the BLINKER weapon far more often.
ADDED, Pirate hotspots are more visible due to FIRE EFFECTS (the smoke will be made smaller in the next update), Pirate hotspots also save their timers, and are deactivated for a short time after you deal with the buccaneers!
ADDED 3 new minor settlements, each with their own assets to buy, get those PROFITS SON. These settlements have 2 actor slots each.
ADDED, Subs now IMPLODE when destroyed, giving a clear visual indicator of being taken out
ADDED, 2nd pass on the Midlands and Lowlands map, both maps have had many visual improvements and assets added to them

CHANGED, The player now begins beside PANTHEO the northernmost settlement in the Emerald Ocean Zone.
CHANGED Spitter bullet visuals, it is now a sharpened flechette instead of a cylinder, also it has a trail renderer making shots more visually obvious.

FIXED a bug which caused UI elements to not layer over one another properly.
FIXED a bug where the bounty earned from destroying dastardly pirates wasn't persisting/saving.

The campaign has never felt smoother. Soon; MiniQuests, Torpedoes and more interactions with actors!

Added; Heart container functionality

Added; Female Actors can now get pregnant when having sex (approx. 1/20 chance). No birth or child mechanics yet, Seduce button still auto succeeds, expect all this to change SOON (tm). For now females are just pregnant forever, use birth control kids (also in development (SOON(tm)))

Added; Player HP functionality

Added; Spacebar now changes overworld game speed, pause, x1, x2

Added; Codex and many basic fluff entries, [X] to open.

Added; Music to the Overworld.

Added; First Pass on Clan UI. So far all clanners can do is contribute to your income or act as wings.

Added: Music! Purchased the rights to use scores of tracks, created long randomized playlists for when the player is traveling on the worldmap, chilling in town, or prepping for a fight

Added: TradeCogs now travel between the cities transporting goods. You can’t do anything with them but they make the map feel more populated, which is nice?


Cities on the overworld are no longer represented by blocks, but by miniature city models

Lighting changes when moving into deeper parts of the overworld

Seaweeds now move slightly

Better hit effects on projectiles

Initial art pass for many buttons

Redone the models and textures on all submarines greatly increasing their level of detail


Fixed; Interacting with UI no longer changes destination on the worldmap

Next Up: Quests, ‘leveling’ system, more interactions with actors and with your clan
