Allow us to add our own Character Portrait?

Hey everyone!


New around here, so if this has been requested feel free to ignore this post.


@Fenoxo or any of the programmers; Is it possible to have a dialog box that allows us to link or drag and drop our own character portrait?


It would save with our local saves and (maybe in the future) even be usable as a thumbnail when loading a save. Other indie games (such as Wasteland 2, or Shadowrun Returns for example), allow players to do this by having a directory where players select custom portraits.


The portrait would appear in the upper left hand corner when selecting appearance, or in the upper right hand corner during combat.

I find it strange that CoC or TiTs doesn't have an option for this. Was there ever a reason why not?

If I'm not mistaken, there are parts in the TiTS engine that can account for image pack expansions. I can see a custom portrait feature being implemented once and if image packs become a thing. For now, I think a few reasons why this option is not implemented yet is probably due to concentration on content first, then expandable features later; as well as the game being made compatible on multiple platforms, so the expansion content that is likely more useful for PC players may increase the imbalance of special features between platforms. But I'm not one of the official devs, so I could be totally wrong.

I think OP just wants to be able to load a single picture for their PC. I think that could be done easily enough if the game finds PC.png (would have to be transparent, no?) next to it.

Exactly.


When you create your character, a dialogue can come up asking if you would like to link (url) or browse locally for a character portrait that's a specific dimension.


portraits would have to be specific dimensions.

Image pack  most likely will be a thing, as soon as Fen finishes other images. We have already seen a Flahne under the table teaser.

Was about to start a topic asking the exact same thing. Glad I searched the forums first, and I am glad I am not alone in wanting that.


I would add that it would be best if you could change the picture at any time.  Since there are so many transformatives, and I doubt anyone keep their character "vanilla".
