So, while looking at Attack Drones, Accessories, & Weapons something struck me.
Is there a benefit for a Tech Specialist with the Attack Drone related perks to use something OTHER than Tam Wolf / Siegewulfe / Bimbo Siegewulfe?
While something like... say, Signet of Bravery or Myr Greatcoat provides a large number of stat boost(s) and gives you back the shielding otherwise spent on Tam Wolf / Siegewulfe, are items like Signet / Greatcoat / Cybernetic Exoskeleton / Shield Aug Bracers worth it in lieu of Siegewulfe / Tam Wolf?
What accessories are worth considering?
How do you generally decide which accessories to use?

The default Drone does Electric damage, Siegwulfe and Tam-Wolf 1.0 do Kinetic. Tam-Wolf 2.0 does 0.8x Kinetic and 0.3 Electric. Laser does Burning. Damage types do matter. Default does noticeably better vs Mining Robots, for example. Attack Drone doesn't scale Siegwulfe's Tease damage, but does scale the Combat Tail implant.

Personally, I use Tam-Wolf all the time on my Drone Tech, as it's a good all-rounder.

I've also found my Shields don't go down much, especially after level 10, so I don't really miss Shield Booster. Rapid Recharge + Stun from Custom Shock Gear is extremely good. And I used the Atma Armor until Augment-Weave on Zheng Shi. I've yet to play a Ranged Tech, so I can't comment on that.

You might also look into Light Jetpack for Flight if you don't want Wings, especially if you went for Melee.

I generally stick to tease damage, which means I mostly use the Body Spray.
For non-tease tactics, I use the Shield Aug Bracers. The more shields the better. At a certain point, you can do nothing in a fight and not only will your shields never fail, but your drone can take out the enemy given enough time. Honestly, the standard drone is more than enough.

Tbh, I had forgotten TamWolf gets an upgrade!
I've looked into Light Jetpack but why exactly does Melee want that? Mostly for Evasion?
And yeah, I can see how lvl 10 stats will come into play :)

I am "a little" late to this discussion, but I will add a couple of things.

1. There is also a fourth way to hit a flying enemy with a melee attack: paralyze or stun. Yes, an immobilized enemy is considered grounded. It was discovered by me in one of the old topics (it seems that someone from the development team said this), works in all versions (with flying enemies) from 0.7.59 to 0.8.159.
2. Only a normal melee attack has a check for a flying target. So you can stun a flying enemy using Headbutt or Low Blow.

But personally, I prefer to wear a light jetpack rather than any other accessory. Because it is quite versatile and helps a lot in certain battles. I also hate being knocked down and I hope that a higher evasion reduces the likelihood of (stupid) get-up situations for three or four moves in a row...
