[0.5.29] Secondary Atugia Recruitment Method Not Occurring [Opera Browser]

I've had trouble finding the actual specific details on how to do the secondary, non-sexual method of recruiting Atugia, which all I know is that you have to fight her that first time, then talk to her several times after a certain point, and when you get the option to go with her headless body, you deny it, and later she should try to fight you again in front of The Frost Hound or the northern gate. My character is max level, I'm plenty past day 100, I've met Lumia for the Shadows Over the Sun quest, and I've gotten to the point where I deny the sex with Atugia, but nothing happens. I've tried sleeping for 10+ days in a row, sleeping and walking outside The Frost Hound between sleeping 10+ times, and traveled between Hawkethorne and Old Forest gate 10+ times, as well as simply spam waiting for 5+ days. Still nothing.

Am I doing something wrong, from me not having enough details on how to do it? Or is this actually a bug, where the event just cannot proc for me? I would like to progress the story without having to enter sexual scenes with any female/intersex characters, and it seems I'm a bit stuck here.

the 'secondary method' was the first way atugia was recruitable. You had to have gone to castle hawkethorne before she fights you in town after you return from leaving at any point. Said secondary method also pretty much required you to sex Tui in order to recruit her so the current much easier way of fighting her doesn't involve sex at all. I'm fairly certain you have the order of events mixed up because she doesn't fight you for denying her headless body of sex.

That's just the details I got from all around the place. There's not exactly any guides, so I'm just following the Wiki and forum posts, and neither are all that helpful.
