I'm currently playing as a black mage wyld elf, and I love spamming Grease and Fireball.
I noticed occasionally (wasn't actively paying attention to the statuses before) that the fire resistance debuff would disappear after using Fireball or White Fire (makes sense, oil burnt off). However I noticed that when fighting the Manticore Girl in the Foothills, after successfully greasing the Manticore, then missing with White Fire, the debuff vanished. Odd, I thought, and when paying attention to Arona's fights, after using Grease and setting them alight with an AOE fireball, the Fire Resistance Debuff persists. I'm unsure if this is an intended feature so I'm reporting it here.

Just noted a few more times.

Fighting harpy group, grease debuff disappears on opponents that are still up, but is still active on opponents knocked out.

Fighting Marefolk Shaman, grease debuff does not disappear after using Sun of Jassira on Shaman.

Fighting Lupine Scouts, grease debuff disappears on Lupine Warrior after Fireball, but persists on Lupine Archer. Both opponents still up.
(Sidenote: Lupine Warrior used Guard Stance after standing up)

Fighting Sariel. grease debuff disappears on Sariel after using White Fire on her.

That's because it's based on the NPC's turns taken, not the casting of the spells. It's got a duration that it specifies in the spell description
