It actually fits considering that in that very same conversation she says even the worst people have a little light inside. In this case, it's heavily implied that she's optimistic, despite a corrupted PC's dark tendencies.
In that context it seems absolutely goofy. Comedic even. The shortness of her explanation adds a lot to it too though. The sheer nonchalance at how she acknowledges the PC as a dark knight seemed weird.

Considering that the Champion is canonically going to be opposing Kas and her subordinates' plans regardless of personality, which of Kas' tracks you're on or what you the player might be roleplaying, it's really not that out of place. Especially in the immediate context of that line.
Sure, that scene could add alternate lines to follow [pc.title] but since there isn't (so far as I can tell) a way to make alternate dialogue based on your title it couldn't really be tailored that specifically.
