Are you sure the room you are in has options that correspond to the keyboard? Maybe you should submit a bug report with a screenshot of room you're in along with a notice of the version you're using.

Nothing for now, the next planet is not released. They're working on spaceships and space combat before they go on to the next planet.

I'm also picturing this to work like other RPG games with collection options; once you get the full collection you get a passive bonus (Perk in TiTS terms). Like maybe if you collect all of the books you get a bonus to intelligence or intelligence-based abilities.
