Yes. I tried until the "There was no effect" message appeared. Root of Man changes skin and removes scales when combined with Mandrake Root, but leaves the wings intact. Raw Root of Man changes every transformation it can, but does not remove the wings.

Both versions of Root of Man (with Mandrake Root and raw) did not work.
