I intend to use WorldPainter to make the rough landscape and build all the structures in creative. Has anyone here heard of something like this being done?
I am interested in attempting to recreate elements of CoC2 in Minecraft. Has anything like this been attempted?

I have not heard of something like this being done. It sounds quite ambitious. What area are you starting with? Hawkethorne? Or do you have some location that you really want to dig into, like Khor'minos?
The goal is to start with Hawkethorne. I've never used worldpainter before so it's a bit of a learning curve, but I don't see any other way of truly capturing the immersive feeling of walking down the road and seeing all the sights we've become so familiar with over the last few years, portrayed visually instead of literally. I'd like to do the entirety of the playable portion of savarra, but that's a long term project if I can be bothered and have enough time.
If anyone has any sources for artwork depicting vistas from COC2, I'd be much abliged to have them.

Glimpse into the prototype Old Forest. Dark trees and thick canopies designed to blot out sunlight and create the spooky haunted woods vibe. Flowers, fallen logs and roots will be added later.
