hey it's the K.O.T here to ask all you fallen champs out there if you're as excited as i am to sell out hawkethorn and everyone in it to the demons. honestly i can't wait for the day when garth realizes he's been harboring the real threat to the town the whole time

garth brought it on himself after all trusting a complete stranger to solve everything letting us escort cait through a blizzard not suspecting any ulterior motives on our part (i mean we're alone with a big titted cat girl in a blizzard with no witnesses anything could've happened really)

Good for you?
oh it most certainly is! one of the best ways to play villain protagonists is the long con slowly twisting world views with vagaries and half-truths stacking them up to watch them fall like a house of cards in the end
reminds me of carth from kotor 1

Would you please hide your sig behind a Spoiler tag? It's killing my limited bandwidth and, frankly, an eyesore.

Nope. You probably have it set to hide all sigs in your preferences.

Much better, thanks. Large images (especially more than one, be they in sigs or within posts) are best hidden behind spoiler tags as they can be somewhat of an eyesore and use up a lot of bandwidth for those of us with limited or no high speed data. Best to let folks open the image on their own, chuckle, then close it back up.

ya know along side the betrayal I mentioned at the beginning i am reminded of go nagai's demon lord dante and how good is not always "the good guys" you can see this play out in many a jrpg where sexy succubi are actually good and organized religion and gods are bad more often than not, neat eh? I only bring it up because that would be a fun twist;) for the plot specially with how lumia glared at kas during the winter palace scenario

also the betrayal of ryn was quite fun too all that work building up her trust and then you just go and hug kas right in front of her also flying off to the bedroom in her arms was a nice touch:D
not quite as involved as the betrayal of amilee or jojo back in coc 1 but still very good

Putting aside that the demons being good goes against them being defined as selfish hedonists, no that would not be a good twist.
We know some stuff that turns these "gods" grey already.

Also, I never understood the appeal of the "god is evil, the devil is good" trope..

Though more on topic, I look forward to more chances and ways to be an evil corrupter =D

no that would not be a good twist.
i didn't say anything about it being a "good" twist just fun

"god is evil, the devil is good" trope..
i believe it has a lot to do with rebelling against an invasive outside authority as in most cases the demons are carefree aimless primal forces or a pre-human civilization until one day god appears with an ultimatum. also there was maybe some influence from the christian\catholic tendency of labeling any spirit or entity not of the faith as an evil demon like old time missionaries\explorers\crusaders forcibly converting native peoples and telling them their way of life is wrong in the eyes of a foreign god, of a foreign religion (from some of their perspectives the christian\catholic god was probably evil and his servants sent to destroy their faiths and traditions)

sorry not trying to start a religious debate or anything:p just hope this either helps clarify the trope or brings more confusion. corruption is definitely fun

In his classic monograph War Without Mercy, John Dower made the interesting suggestion that the Japanese portrayal of Westerners as oni during the Asia-Pacific War not only literally demonized and dehumanized their opponents in wartime but also simultaneously helped to enable a sort of cultural accommodation after losing the war. Oni were, of course, demonic and dangerous, and viewing the Americans as such made it easier to treat American soldiers as unworthy of human consideration (much as Western racialist propaganda enabled similar treatment of Japanese by the Americans). But there were enough versions of Japanese stories where oni proved to also be helpful teachers to allow the Americans to slip into a similar "teaching" cultural role during the Occupation, with all the awkward (yet nonviolent) connotations that that brought with it.

Put another way, in certain cultural contexts, demons can be repurposed for "helpful" ends.
And in Savarra, we already have the Seven and how they started out...

the scenario of Garth breaking when his faith and hope are totally betrayed by the champion he took in under his roof (and possibly under his daughter's skirts) is a possibility, considering that the first corrupt TF, Lycanthorn, is a corrupted version of Wolf TF, Wolfsboon. And if accompanied by the possibility of corrupting Gwyneth, it would be the cherry on the cake!

It does not seem to me that Garth is the type of person who would leave loose ends, rather to me it seems that he watches over the champion in some way, and if he sees him evil, he will not hesitate to poison you the next drink.

I kinda has this headcanon of corrupt PC one day coming back with Kasyrra on a leash and Garret being all "okay fine, as long as she behaves."

Is there somewhere to actually read up on the corruption they're going to put in the game or is this just all speculation

Only two places you can corrupt rn as far as I'm aware, those being the Hive and the Centaur Village. Besides that, yeah pretty much most here is speculation
