Avid railfan with an interest and knowledge in and about railroad equipment as well as non railroad related items such as computers and gaming, tractor trailers, U.S. WWII aircraft, agriculture equipment and much more. I enjoy building my own computer rigs even if my choice in hardware doesn't make use of the available performance possible.
When not gaming or doing other things I'm either down at the closest Amtrak station watching CSX, Norfolk Southern and Amtrak trains pound the diamonds or down at the truck stop looking for old cabover trucks, preferably old Freightliner and even older White-Freightliner trucks.
I'm a fan of old EMD diesel/electric locomotives back when EMD was part of GM and known as the General Motors Electro-Motive Division. My preferences for EMD units are the old F and E series units, preferably the E8 and E9 models, as well as the newer EMD Dash 2 units, mainly the SD40-2. Even more so I am a fan of the late Southern Railway and its High Hood diesel/electric locomotives along with their beautiful green and white streamlined E and F units and nifty slogans. When not fascinated by diesels I'm busy enjoying the sight, sounds and smells of the Iron Horse with the shrill of a steam whistle and the sharp crack of the exhaust out the stack being the best sounds ever emitted by a steamer. Nothing better than listening to the stack talk from a steamer and the cry of the whistle as it echoes off the North Carolina mountains.
Southern Railway Serves the South. Look Ahead-Look South.
Keep the Green Light Shining.
