I use windows and Download the game that comes with the programmed player for it. I would reccommend(if experience around installing linux and partitioning storage) partitioning a section for a Linux on your (Hard Disk Drive/Solid State Drive) in order to play the game seperate from a browser...

So it was like on my End - Select Codex -> Select Stats -> Error Readout There's something weird with the codex selection functions I think this save and your game copy is corrupted for some reason as I double-checked to see if it corrupted my saves. I would suggest downloading a new game copy...
