Should be tomorrow, if all goes to plan

That might well be an issue, yes, though I don't think I've ever actually check it. You should run the game from an unprotected directory. That is, almost anything except Program Files and Windows. Once you get it working, you can also turn on autosaving in the option menu, to save you the trouble.

You get an option to save at the start and end of every night. It is not possible to save during the night, unfortunately.

Chosen, an adult text game with roguelike elements

I really like it so far. There are a couple of things, though: Abilities are not useful enough. I beat the game on normal difficulty quite easily never using any other ability than Succubus Form, except in a "what does this button do?" way. They also don't feel distinctive: The only difference...

    Nightgames Mod (v2.5.1.2) updated 2/11/17

How are you trying to run it? I think this should only happen if you make a typo in a command line, but you should be able to just double-click the .jar file. The only other things I can come up with is that you are trying to run it from a protected directory (like C:/Program Files) or a...

    Nightgames Mod (v2.5.1.2) updated 2/11/17

@Mountainmanmad This is the latest version I have (2.6.0 RC2): https://mega.nz/#!BMRUSS5Y!Wp_F5NsTiLcg7r9qxnxP9g-0E9UcyGkcQk20nAALkjc Maybe someone posted a link to a more recent version in this thread somewhere, I don't know. @lugime If you just want to run it for yourself, you don't need to...

    Nightgames Mod (v2.5.1.2) updated 2/11/17

Giving the character the 'zealinspiring' trait should do the trick. Either: Add it to the character's .json file Edit it into a save, or Go to the debug screen (accessible from the credits window) and type '***.addTrait zealinspiring' where *** is the character's type (for custom characters...

    Nightgames Mod (v2.5.1.2) updated 2/11/17

That would be me. Samantha wasn't really intended to be a full-fledged character like the four originals. Mainly because the custom NPC system does not support daytime scenes. That doesn't mean it has to stay that way, of course. I quite like her, myself. To give a summary of the backstory, she...

    Nightgames Mod (v2.5.1.2) updated 2/11/17

@DarkSinfulMage Actually, I think that solution should be fine as it is. That method updates the in-combat addiction severity, so if there is no combat going on it probably should do nothing.

    Nightgames Mod (v2.5.1.2) updated 2/11/17

It's been another quiet spell for me. Part of that is a lack of time (which is unlikely to change soon), and if I'm being honest, another part is that I just haven't felt like working on this game lately. Since I very much doubt that nergantre is going to play an active role here any time soon...

    Nightgames Mod (v2.5.1.2) updated 2/11/17

@tjmac124 The easiest way would be to download Eclipse (http://eclipse.org), and then look in the File menu for Import... > General > Existing Projects into Workspace and select the root folder of the downloaded files. Another option is to use the ANT build script...

    Nightgames Mod (v2.5.1.2) updated 2/11/17

I've been quiet for a while, sorry about that. @zufield The quests don't really work yet, so you're probably better off waiting for now. @hiiamaguest There's something a little wonky with addictions in RC2. This has been partially fixed since, but it still needs some work. @pepe As Sacredferro...

    Nightgames Mod (v2.5.1.2) updated 2/11/17

@DarkSinfulMage I'm not sure if those problems are specific to your version or if they've carried over from mine. Surrender shouldn't limit your choice of skills, so that would be weird. I am aware that there is still something off with the encounters. I've only seen it with threesomes, though...

    Nightgames Mod (v2.5.1.2) updated 2/11/17

@DarkSinfulMage As you've found, you can't really wait for input in-line as your pseudocode said. When you press a key, an event gets fired on the UI thread. If you use that event to run the combat loop, and then want to wait for input, the UI thread will be waiting for the UI thread to fire a...

    Nightgames Mod (v2.5.1.2) updated 2/11/17

There's not much I can say about that bit of code other than that I'm interested to see where it goes. Please try to use the regular Java naming conventions, though. And be consistent: I count three different naming schemes just in those snippets. About stances and effects, do you mean you want...
